Oh what a beautiful morning

A strong cup of black coffee, a cigarette and the film Deliverance. Add a faux fur blanket and my fancy balls, bliss.

Truck Drivers Deserve a Little Extra Love These Days

Truck Drivers Deserve a Little Extra Love These Days
Our truck drivers exemplify the drive that keeps our stores moving. We’ve always known this, but during these difficult and uncertain times, knowing we can count on them to continue to provide our stores, our communities and our families with what they need when they need it is even more reassuring. Their heroic efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. Our team members, customers and communities have rallied around these road warriors and shown their appreciation. Since we shared the story of one of our distribution centers providing meals for the over-the-road truck drivers who make deliveries there, we’ve heard even more stories from the road about ways our truck drivers are being honored. Here are a few stories that I wanted to share with you in the hopes they inspire you to show a little extra love to the truck drivers serving your community.

Meijer Truck Driver Gets Birthday Surprise

Don Pratt, a Meijer fleet driver for nearly 10 years, was driving down US-31 north of Muskegon, Mich. one morning in early April when a driver pulled up in the lane next to him and matched his speed. When he looked over, the driver rolled down their window to give him a thumbs up while the passenger cheered and applauded him out of their window.

Little did those customers know that their show of support would mean a little extra to Pratt on that day — his birthday. “It made me feel very proud to be a driver for Meijer,” Pratt said.

Those customers also couldn’t have known what a particularly outstanding driver they chose to applaud. As a veteran, Pratt helps Meijer support Wreaths Across America each December by delivering truckloads of wreaths for wreath-laying ceremonies at cemeteries across the country to honor fallen heroes. He is also an avid Cub Scout volunteer.

Team Members Make Goodie Bags for Delivery Drivers

Our truck drivers face challenging times as they travel across the Midwest without access to comforts such as dine-in restaurants. Knowing this, team members started making goodie bags for the drivers who deliver the products our customers need. For example, at one Meijer store in Kalamazoo, Mich., team members prepared goodie bags full of snacks, baked goods and energy drinks with a note of appreciation for the truck drivers delivering to their store.

Catalytic Converter Theft...

I've seen a few news links about catalytic converters being stolen from cars. Tonight one article revealed data from insurance companies stated what was thousands per year are increasing in numbers. One of the most targeted vehicles is the Ford F-Series truck. The truck is high enough that someone can slide under with a wrench and unbolt the unit in a few minutes.

Personally, I had an engine fail on my 2014 Hyundai Veloster caused by a piston ring that sent 3 quarts out the exhaust. My mechanic found a used engine, one recovered from a rear end collision. It wasn't running correctly and the suspect was the catalytic converter had clogged due to the oil. We could have shorted out the sensor, re-piped the exhaust and reprogrammed the brain, but that had some restrictions. I didn't want to drive a car with a tampered exhaust system so I bought a re-manufactured catalytic converter and the car ran like it did before the engine blew up.
At that time, new catalytic converters for that model were around $1,500 and re-manufactured around $500. Either way, it was a big chunk of money.

I did find flaws in some the stories I've read.
Most cars have alarm systems that are set off when you bump the car.
So, how is it possible someone can jack up a Honda (for example) and unbolt a converter without setting off the alarm?

Some stolen converters are used to replace defective ones in other cars while other are sold for the precious metals they contain.

Okay, police have suggested engraving them with a unique traceable number.
In the real world, just like stolen guns... grind off the number.
I believe possession of a gun with a tampered serial is illegal, but I doubt there are laws to cover converters.

If it's so easy to unbolt a converter... SPOT WELD the joints so only someone using a grinder could break it loose.

Maybe more thought needs to go into a method to deter the business of stealing catalytic converters...

Flying KIA...

I read this story this morning and this afternoon it's already 'gone viral' on YouTube and many news services. Caught on a dashcam of cars driving along the freeway in California, where a pickup with oversized tires completely loses the front left tire just as a KIA Soul comes up on the left side. The tire goes under the front of the KIA making it flip more than 10 feet in the air where it rolled and crashed. the tire rolled back bounced on something (out of the view of the camera) then rolls back hitting the KIA in the rear.
While this is happening, the pickup truck with three wheels continues driving and appears to be heading toward the right shoulder.
While the top of the KIA was crushed, it was reported no one was seriously hurt.

What to wear

As we have kindly been reminded this is a freeeking Datong site, I must ponder

If your date met you for the first time, what to wear?

Men-in all seriousness what could a woman wear that essentially bonks your head and dumps all reason for lust?

My bagel toasts under desert sun
I take my coffee black, usually
He places a date in my hand and I marvel at its perfection.

How to maintain a woman

Women require constant maintenance and servicing, some handy information to get the best performance out of a woman is:

Listen to her; she will make various noises, from a gentle purr to outlandish shouting, purr good shouting not! Listen carefully and nod your head and /or make sympathetic noises and this will help with her issues that she wants to describe or rant at you.

Women speak on average 20 000 words a day while men speak just 7000…

Hygiene: This is important; women don’t like a smelly mechanic, and remember you can come across as a stinky bastard in the cyber world too. Always keep your tool clean!

Manners and Etiquette
: This is vital!, acting like a d*ck will ensure that the women loses interest, whether in real life or the cyber world being a narcissist or bully will only attract a woman of the lowest possible class and standard, for some this is adequate but any “relationship” won’t last, and you would have to scrap her, it could be costly to you too. Never compare her to your previous model.

Educated and informed: This is a vital part of woman maintenance, Showing cultural acceptance and being able to converse about current news and situations to family and relationship issues. Keep her manual updated!

Sense of humour : This is important, This does not just mean being witty, It also means not having for example a male hissy fit on the blogs or forums, most people in those locations don’t care about your self-serving woe is me crap, be upbeat, banter and make people laugh. laughing will make her inner engine purr.

Annual Inspection (MOT) Her annual inspection is purely to test that she has been well maintained and serviced, She should be checked for any leaks or other issues daily, these can range from tears to excess verbiage, often, simply washing the dishes will stop leaks.

Wear and tear is something to look out for, twisting her nipples like you are tuning a radio or digging into her inner workings without suitable permissions and essential lubricants will cause your inspection to fail.

If she needs fixing, then fix her, don’t wait until things fall apart, by then it will be too late.

Feeling the past

I've been experiencing the feeling of the past. I can't identify the moment except that it is a good feeling. It's like the air is alive. I smell scents of the outside, this old home's bones breathing. I remember first coming to PA with so many hopes and dreams. I thought I had found my partner for life.

I don't have sad feelings. I put on a pair of shorts and a tank top, triggering days outside camping or kayaking. I can feel the wet sand under my feet. I imagine taking my kayak and placing it on the water. The coffee pot on the stove triggers memories of the first cup, in the woods of a campground in New Jersey. Our tent collecting insects and inchworms. I remember laying in the sleeping bag, watching the slow movement of an upsidedown worm traveling on the roof, silhouetted by the sunlight behind the nylon.

Not all triggers are bad.

men and women parts

ok, i will be bold with this one...because i think i might not be alone.

it wasn't until very recently, i have overcome the terror of seeing the man part up close and personal. in the past, it was a comfort that the man part hid nicely in my woman part. i chose to keep the man parts a mystery. i barely could look at them. they are so different from my own. now, i never really examined my parts either. they're in an out of the way place unless a mirror is in hand.

i have been exploring sex because, i'm a natural tourist. i've traveled places without a guide and learned a lot about myself and the places i've been. it only makes sense that i take this approach with the human body.

i did get the jitters, while investigating the male topography. like walking in a strange neighborhood, it's a little scary. i did manage to find a very good tour guide who encouraged me to embrace his member, allowing me to take more of a scientific approach. knowledge is power, i have heard and now believe. i have been intimate in the past but my guide coaxed me into being an intimate observer of the wonders of man. what i once found uncomfortably odd, i now find rather attractive, even beautiful. his form is no longer a mythical sea monster that i should cover my eyes and scream at the sight of. rather, i am in ah(a pun) at it's amazing shape-shifting abilities.

my guide also encouraged me to shave the lady parts. this act revealed an intimate relationship with myself. i have never been comfortable with my parts, thinking they are as odd looking as the very different man parts. after shaving away the shroud of mystery, i was able to really look at my parts, as a scientist would. i am now more comfortable with places generally closed to the public.

to assist in my mantra "knowledge is power", i casually am an armchair tourist of both man and woman parts. this has taken away the adjective "odd" and replaced it with "amazing".

the human body is a natural wonder. i urge people to get their passport stamped.
