Back to the Boring Board

Hello all. Someone messaged me on this site and said I had to stop posting personal things on the net. I agreed and went and deleted several blogs. I’m sorry I made you guys read that. And I admit that I had the insults that I was unintentionally asking for coming. So here’s to being safe and boring again. Cheers! laugh wine

P.S. Thank you to that person. You know who you are. angel

Da Numbas...

It's always entertaining to work around someone who grew up in New York City and cannot get around the accent. One salesman would say "Da Numbas" when the rest of us knew he meant 'the numbers'
In business, the numbers means so much. If you have to sell enough to keep the business going. That said, you have to sell high enough to turn a profit. It's all in the numbers. Or, as they say in New York "Da Numbas."

Lots of things going on this week and I haven't had the time to read/watch news as much as I usually do. Mentioned before, I'll scan a story and go to the reader comments, as they often have things to say that are more important than the news story itself.

I see there's a blow-by-blow on what's happening with Trump and the New York fraud trial.

The former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, Allen Weisselberg had a bad case of amnesia and couldn't answer the many questions he was asked while under oath. That's okay and often the prosecutor asking the questions often has the answer and it's just a matter of procedure if the witness is willing to lie or not. Considering Weisselberg already spent time in jail he wasn't going to do or say anything of value.

One of the reader comments talked about the numbers that I found interesting:
Only 13 Presidents failed to get re-elected.
Only 5 Presidents failed to win the popular vote.
Only 4 Presidents have been impeached or resigned.
Only 1 President has ever been criminally indicted.
Only ONE President has done ALL FOUR

"For years, a high-ranking accountant at the Trump Organization was the point man for ensuring that tweaked numbers padded Donald Trump’s wealth on paper.

But when he appeared on the witness stand at the former president’s bank fraud trial last week, the accountant’s supposed finance expertise suddenly vanished into thin air."

New link:

Trump is still complaining in public he didn't get a jury trial.
But the truth is he's not admitting what really happened.
The jury request should have been formally requested from his attorney.
There is a box to be checked and they ignored it.
A blunder by his lawyers and he's trying to make people believe it's a corrupt judicial system.

The urge is back..

Next year, it'll be ten years since my Scottish adventure began. Ten years since I uprooted my entire life and moved across the North Sea, to seek something new. Trying to make it in another country.

I loved every second of being in Scotland. From the food to the people, it was a wonderful place to live. Relatively cheap, stunning to look at and full of amazing experiences. I felt at home there, for some reason. After I took a DNA test, it became clear why, seeing as I am 30.9% English. At least, that's according to the test. Maybe that was the reason I felt at home there?

Recently, I have been fighting the urge to go there again, to live and work. Yes, I love the US, and I really do appreciate Denmark for what it is - but the UK is tempting me again.

I have been looking for warehouse jobs there, and so far I have found a few that I would love to investigate further. One of them is at Amazon, but I need to keep looking for the perfect job. I am very happy with my current job, however, so it's not something I am going to apply for tomorrow. Once I have had my 40th birthday, I will start looking. That gives me 7 months to really dig deep and ask myself "Is this really what I want?"

I can already tell the answer is yes, because I loved it so much the first time!

Pets and dating...

I'm sure I blogged this (maybe on another site) and got mixed reviews. I had a neighbor, nice looking woman but she had dogs... lots of dogs. Some were legit with vaccinations and tags. Many of the others were strays and she didn't have much funding to have them spayed or neutered. The dogs multiplied.

The woman dated as I sometimes would see guys and maybe a car overnight, but it became obvious they didn't want to stay long as her place was overrun with her pets. Not long after animal control going on complaints from neighbors paid her a visit.
Police arrested her, they took control and removed the animals.

Yeah, this is the rare case...

Some profiles show people with their pets. Background, foreground and sometimes, it's the pet and no person. Okay, it's fun to have a pet. But what signal is the person is sending out? Does the pet come first and the (possible) mate come second?

I've dated women with pets. Some had children and a pretty normal life. I've seen some where the dog (for example) had control of the house and everything evolved around the pet. Jumping on the sofa, growling at guests, constant barking... and those are the good points!

laugh

Blogs don't ask questions, but I think people are less critical than I am about having pets and it could be a deterrent to finding a mate if your focus is in the wrong direction.
