itsimpossible: Sir Issac Newton was not only intelligent but was one of the few true geniuses in history. He believed in God
Yippy skippy, someone with a brain purportedly believed in a higher power.
I feel bad for most religious people, that they couldn't choose a better crutch to get them through life. at least booze makes some people more interesting, pot mellows others out and can help with creativity, religion does nothing other than turn people into brainwashed zombies.

this opinion does challenge the former media report...for more than one reason...
usually educated people r more intelliegent than religious people, cos theres no science or logic in religion.just old tales.but that doesnt mean that God believers are no intelliegent.Believing in Supreme Creator (God)doesnt mean being religious person. reading and understandig some science about nature give u some knolewdge that religion could never give .and that making people think that they know how universe works so theres no need for God.But knowing secrets and complexity of the Universe and nature makes me to believe in Creator more and more. And of course when i say God(Supreme Creator)i dont mean Jesus or similar charachters that manwritten holy books claim.
There are other religions, apart from "Christianity" Just because some people don't believe in God, doesn't make them any less religious in their own faith. We come from somewhere, we didn't just "pop" up.. An " atheist" to me, is someone who believes in Nothing! And that's not very intelligent

Allow me to help you out with that Atheists disbelieve without prof ...which puts them in the same basket with the "I read the book and found the lord" Well I watched the movie and it didn`t change my world
The closest to the truth and therefore the most " intelligent" to use the Floskula ( phrase) from the headline, are the Agnostics
Of course, education correlates wih Atheism just as it correlates with autism.
This lack of social savviness and unawareness of Human nature can be seen in geeks, nerds, the middle class and others of higher education and intelligence. All of which lean towards Atheism.
