Canadian politics is as dull as dust...we has a Prime Minister who was a female but interim...Kim Campbell...I don't vote Conservative...but who knows...the closest female person thought to be a candidate was Sheila Copps...much to young at the time to vote but she was a good option...

We really need to get rid of Harper before we loose all of our rights and freedoms.

Canada isn't exactly a well known nation of firsts much like NZ...laid back and quiet...we did have representation from both genders...

Track16: I don't think he respects anything. I find to be a bully, the way he manipulates things and people, he puts me in mind of a dictator to be honest.

Not good track.

Back up on that , NZ gave woman the vote first . Maori woman had it first on account of them being land owners in their own right . It was then extended to other races taking away the need to own land to be able to vote .

The Provinces of Ontario and Quebec decide the election unfortunately...they have to believe there is a better way...he has done nothing for climate control and we have had the worst record in women and child poverty...he has done nothing to improve this...perhaps the far Eastern provinces and the West could meet up but sadly Alberta...may not feel it necessary...

Lind
I don't know if there is a female considered running for any party federally...

What bothers me more than anything is his lack of interest in the cases of all of the native women who have gone missing and killed. Its like he couldn't care less about them.

Yes, but hopefully there will be provincial governments pushing Federals to take this seriously...everyone knows the amount of missing Native women are disproportional in regards to the overall missing women...he (Harper) just wants to sweep it under the carpet sort to speak...but don't worry...it is not a secret...it will be dealt with...

YEAH !!! FORUMS ARE GREAT HERE !!!

As i am in Europe, i sensed that MT she's not really well appreciated as a leader, and some of my friends in UK are unanimous as to the majority of that opinions. Just recently, she was mentioned not with possitive aspects. Well, being a leader, woman need not to be at the highest rank,, a lot of women are doing exceptionally great achievements without being carried out publicly by the media/politics.
In the middle east countries, women are litle by litle bringing in certain changes on attitides of men regarding the women in these particular society, and it was carried/accepted without much chaos and issues. That is another form of woman leadership,, inserting women's access to rights and privileges which some considered as inherent to only men. Woman could be a leader in so many ways ,,, not just saying ,, "I WANT MY MONEY BACK" and send soldiers to war ,,, lols ,,

Not at all , woman were allowed to vote first in NZ . The opportunity to choose a woman leader came recently . The first one took over during a term of government , one that was much reviled by both sides of the political coin . The second one had support and respect from both sides . The last one is in line to take over Ban Ki-Moons job at the UN .

I think I was misunderstood...lol...regardless a good topic of conversation...funny isn't it...that women were not regarded as people and treated as chattel in the past...slowly but surely gaining our rights as people...and now we can debate about electing women in leadership roles like Hillary Clinton...wine

I guess at the end of the day, man or woman truly is not the issue.

Like most of you have said, it has to be any leader that can withstand and come out clean when it comes to integrity, character and strength. Being transparent and no decadence.

Thank you all for your participation..bouquet cheers
