I can think of 2 reasons... 1, you have a face, only suitable for radio, or 2, you have something to hide, or are married & don't want to be recognised.

4. you've gotten soooo much mail from folks who didn't bother to read the profile......
5. you're in the witness protection program
6. you have no technical abilities whatsoever
7. you've gained weight, and don't want to renew your photo
8. you've lost all your hair since your last posted photo
9. you're more interested in a person's outsides, than their insides
....
perhaps you could run a thread, "why isn't yur photo up?"
there's a lotta imaginative folks on here with probably some great answers....
i think the best way to meet someone on here...is just be your genuine self with or without photo.

i used to have my photo up (long ago...) and folks who've been here a while know what i look like. and from time to time, i still put a photo up.
having said that, i did meet someone on CS (without photo) and got to know him a bit before i ever knew what he looked like.
and we'll be having our 6 year anniversary soon.
i think what's important...is to be open and curious with some common sense. you can always exchange photos privately after you get to know each other a bit.....
there's a lid for every pot.
