Hey peeps--(gee, I never said that before! ha ha ) Just wanting to know: Have any of you ever heard of a safe way to lose weight using vinegar? A friend of mine told me that it must be organic vinegar that still contains the "veil of the mother". She gave me a bottle and since I need to shed a few (good Lord...) I began the regime today. It is 2 teaspoons up to 2 Tablespoons of the veiled vinegar in a glass of water, sweetened if you like. I don't mind the taste and "burn" of vinegar at all, in fact I love pickle juice, so it wasn't a problem for me. Anyhoo-anybody out there know about this, and does it really work? Thanks.hug

Hiya Ro wave Can't help ya regarding the apple cider vinegar for weight loss but I have heard it works. Over the past two years I've lost quite a bit of weight simply by watching what I eat and paying attention to the nutritional info on packages. That along with plenty of walking did the trick for me. hug

Bragg'a organic apple cider vinegar 'with mother" first thing every morning is very good for your overall health.

Use warm water to dissipate the taste of the vinegar

I have it most nights, diluted with large amounts of Gin and followed by a dry red wine mouthwash, however, the benefits outweigh the awful taste, no longer have medication for high blood pressure after 6 months continuous consumption, but not noticed any weight loss sorry.

Hi Rohaan!

I find the summer months easier to stick to a diet since the weather is hot and humid!

It is always best to stick to natural foods that are minimally processed, i.e. salads, fresh fruits and vegetables.

I like having Greek Yogurt, Ricotta Cheese, with fresh fruits such as Strawberries, Blueberries etc.

When I'm in the mood for something meaty, I will have turkey burgers.

Wish you luck on your diet!

.....Just a small opinion on your thread......I've never actually heard about organic vinegar helping with loosing weight....that is if you mean the ordinary stuff people put on chips?......I do have a great belief in Apple Cider Vinegar though......my sister....who works as a nutritionist in a hospital in Dublin has been tormenting us for years as to its benefits.....so we follow her advice and have a little of it diluted every day.......anyway, just as regards people being overweight in general.....my opinion is that, since I was much younger even going back to being a child in rural Ireland.......In those days people only had the choice of going to small rural shops with a very limited amount of products available.....nowadays there are three or four different food chains available in every town in the country......We all go in there with the expectation of buying stuff for dinners for the next few days.....What happens then?.... A load of useless, non nutritive things are all over the bloomin place......we end up buying things that we could well live without.....so what happens is that a couple of days later we look in our fridges or cupboards and wonder what we spent our money on......In my opinion we should all concentrate on just buying a few bits of healthy, nutritious meat, vegs, fruit and things like that......but, of course, most of us don't do that in these massive supermarkets that we frequent....we end up going home with a lot of stuff that is of no use to us nutritionally..... Maybe it's just me but.....looking at a lot of ingredients in our trollies.....we could definitely live healthier lives without 90% of it.....jmo....hope I haven't hijacked your thread....handshake... didn't mean to.....

Many negatives with the consumption of vinegar. You should have your physicians input. Vinegar is an acid and acidic bodies have been known to create cancer cells. Too drastic, look online for FDA approved drugs. Phentermine (not the Fen Fen from the 90's) taken with Belviq has shown safe results.

It wouldn't surprise me. It's probably fine if you actually follow directions, but lots of people overdo it thinking it will work faster. All I know is the idea of drinking vinegar is a lot less appealing than just eating less. uh oh

When I was a kid, I tried to make rubber bones by putting bone in vinegar. The vinegar dissolves the
Calcium out of bone and make them flexible. I wonder if anyone notice bone problems with excess
vinegar consumption. I like pickled asparagus, pickles, peperoncini and lentils with vinegar in the soup.
