Exactly, I was dragged here many, many years ago by someone
who thought the forums were fun. So I packed a bag and set up camp and make an appearance now and again...even after all these years.

It kind of depends on your purpose doesn't it ?
Example: if you are just joining to have fun in the forums, then it wouldn't matter very much where the person is responding from.
On the other hand if you are looking for dates, then distance may matter.
And then there is this,some people lie on their profiles, so we don't really know where they are. There's one woman on a site who claims to be from Ireland. ( like I believe that, smile)

I agree with serene. Over the whole dating thing and stumbled onto the site. I don't know how I found it. I found the forums and I was addicted. Back in the day, the forums were REALLY fun but it has changed a bit since back then.
