Italy and Yugoslavia almost got into a shooting war over Trieste in '58!
Used to camp near Trieste back in the early sixties!
Met some rather interesting people,and many weren't too delighted to have been forced to become Italians!

Hmmm, my family living farther down the Adriatic coast in Italy weren’t too thrilled about Trieste either. However, everyone in my Italian family and ex Croatian in-laws revered Tito because he kept Yugoslavia together and Stalin out (even though Stalin could have kicked Tito’s butt had Russia invaded.) Stalin was always changing governments in the other soviet states, on a whim too.Used to camp near Trieste back in the early sixties!

Jane Fonda is a beautiful and brave girl.........what about the Mai Lai incident....?????......what about lieutenant Calley who authorized the slaughter of an entire village of innocent Vietnamese people......Calley deserved the death penalty..and got little jail time................if not for Janie, the Vietnam war would still be going on.....to the delight of the asinine Daddy Warbucks republicans.....'those who served'....?????????????......what the hell did they serve....?......just pawns to make money for the war machine-------Vietnam was a vicious , dumb war---Lyndon Johnson and Robert Mc Namara were the traitors.......Janie deserves all the honors this country can bestow upon her,,,,,,a true Joan of Arc...........perhaps age has warped your morality of what is right and what is wrong..........

Thank you Conrad. During the war Italians/ Mussolini took Dalmatian coast of Croatia to rule. My father was underage boy and was forced to speak only Italian in the school and his mother language Croatians wasn't permitted at all !
Because of Italian imperialistic hunger towards Croatia territory, we always have that "love and hate" relations with Italian neighbours.
