Friskyone: Unfortunately my 30 year old daughter has this boyfriend. The very first day I met him his aura was very negative. I remember thinking he is gonna be a problem. I can't find anything I like about him. When around him, I swear I get physically ill just being in his presence. He knows I dislike him. I know I should just stay as far away from. I feel kinda bad but I he is pretty much a loser. UGH!
At age 30 your daughter is old enough to make her own decisions.

Just try to be there if it falls in a heap wine

Friskyone: So, you are in an intimate long term relationship and you have very strong feelings for your partner/husband, wife. You want to introduce them to your parents. Your family doesn't like them. They constantly cringe everytime they are around each other.

What do you do in that situation? Has it ever happened to you? How did you handle it?
happens to me all the time
i guess the family doesn`t like that im banging their daughter, mother , sister grin

If my parents (only my mother left) don't like her, well, that's her bad luck, if I have to choose between my girlfriend or my mother, I would choose for my girlfriend. For I hope to live with her forever, my mother I only visit once in a while.

You probably wouldn't have to choose if you visit your mother only once in a while you could visit by yourself while your girlfriend does something else ...

The first three men that my daughter introduced me to I knew in an instant that they weren't right for her but I played along as if I was glad to meet them.

She was at the age of being independent and getting out from under her mother's rules. She picked guys that were a nightmare for me. She knew I didn't like them and I told her why. We didn't fight about it but I think I planted a seed for her to realize that she could do better.

Eventually they were history and she met the man she is married to now, the best son-in-law any mother could ask for.

Curious, is there like a standard criteria for what constitutes good son in laws?

I would imagine that any mother would want their son or daughter to find someone who is respectful, kind-hearted, has empathy for others, and has morals and values that make one successful in life. Successful meaning knows how to go through life’s ups and downs....loyalty....

The day I met my future son in law I knew he was a keeper. My daughter had been going out with him for awhile before I met him. She told me about their dates, I saw how he dressed and I knew he had an impressive job. He was good to her with nice restaurants, vacations and quality hotels. And most of all he was very polite and kind to me in many ways. They married in 2002 and he is still all of the above.

In the past....traditional solid family units existed...the father would vet his daughters dates for suitability and do his best to make sure...that his daughter married the best man possible and a man who would be reliable husband to his daughter

The family bond and closeness...will never be what it once was and sadly many women...will make very bad mistakes in their choices of men...cause they don't have the stability of the solid family unit and men are not treated with the respect...that they once were

Feminism destroyed the family and now the state brings up people's chlldren...brainwashing is in every school and every university...you are not allowed to think for yourself and make the right choices in life...cause the state owns you...the moment you enter the school premises and you only have to look at the woke lunatics to see...that they are mindless fools...without an original thought and understanding of the real world

Hi Friskyone,

If your family haven't met your partner then how do you know they don't/won't like him/her? How can someone cringe around someone they haven't met yet?
