-6c outside, probably about 8c inside until I put the heating on in the evening, then like I said, aoround 16c indoors by 9pm. Those have been the typical temps for the last couple of weeks, up to 15c outside tomorrow.

Wow! Some of the electric companies in the States give discounts on electric use bills if homeowners with smart-thermosats allow their utility company to adjust their thermostats. However, the lowest set-back temperature during heating season is typically around 68 F (20 C.) Utilities adjusting home thermostats usually di this more often during the summer months.
galrads: Do you wear any clothes while in your home? Maybe I should wear something.

The forecast here for next week is very cold, it seems like to me, and I've lived here for 38 years, the weather is changing, the last few years right around now, I get 2-3 weeks of very cold arctic air, it sounds like it's coming again next week, right on schedule ... stay inside and watch football gal, but put some clothes on...
Galley, I can't even imagine 77F in the dead of Winter. What kind of heat do you have? It's 39F outside right now probably going down to th 20's tonight. Ashland VA. Inside it's 68F right now. Not exactly warm, but livable. I have an electric blanket on my bed, I turn it on about a half hour before bedtime, I can't stand getting into a cold bed. My programmable thermo is set to maintain 68 deg. I do have a small woodstove which I use just about every day.

My home is heated with natural gas. I tried to use a heated blanket but I don’t like anything much other than a bed sheet on me while sleeping.
