skwidwurd: see this is what i just can't seem to grasp. people would rather i stopped smoking than stopped DRIVING even though my car pollutes the air more. btw, yes, i will stop smoking eventually but right now i don't believe my smoking (which is mostly done alone or outside) is causing ANYONE any harm.
kissmedeeply: dont get upset with me..you made the challenge
i'm not getting upset i assure you. yes, i attempted a deal but since you don't drive you have nothing to bargain with. i just don't understand why people would rather i stop smoking than stop driving that's all
I don't know, I think it should be recognized as any other narcotic but if you're in a public place, you're open to the world and anything could happen. That's life.

Here smoking is ban in all public buildings, most restaurants, where smoking is allowed you have to be over 18, bingo halls, and at bus stops. They are bringing in a new ban about smoking in cars where there are children riding in them.

Forgot even in bars, and if you go outside you cannot smoke in front of the doors but have to move so many feet away.

Since the smoking ban came in i've suffered badly from cigarette smoke at work. People now smoke outside my office window and the smoke pours in. I've been in touch with the so called 'smoke enforcement' dept, they say, because the smoking is taking place outside, there's nothing i can do. Before this ban came into force this problem didn't arise.

Now there's an interesting side effect. You'd have to put a particle filter in place and then, what's the point of a window?

At the hospitals here, you cannot be anywhere near the building to smoke, you have to leave the property, even patients.
