The Fall

As the chilling rain washes away
The last of the summer heat
The intensity of which wilts
An finally becomes discreet

Light westerlies they blow
An bring with them the cool
Scattering the seeds of life
Through the encumbent mule

Leaves they are dropping
In shades of green an brown
Rustling there way into yards
Creating the ironic frown

There's a softness in the hues
That tempers the air
Eliminates an soothes
Enlightening the stare

Engaging the mood
An brightening the glum
Changing your view
From summer to autumn
