When Darkness Stood So Still

Sleepless nights filled with fright
Moonbeams into my room spill
And casts an eerie comfort light
When rising on my windowsill
Search for peace all my might
But empty dreams won’t fulfill
Deep sadness stunts like blight
The growth of peace so tranquil
Feeling so afraid of my plight
Tossing ‘round much time to kill
Hopelessness moves with delight
On this dark journey all uphill
Through long and restless night
My poor soul in agony so shrill
Wants only rest to feel alright
And warm up from entire chill
Unlike the silence of midnight
When darkness stood so still

I can't imagine the trauma...as I have no kids.....but not knowing the outcome...is to me the worse torment we can suffer...
