Rivers of tears running On the faded wool Clutched on my shivering Pale body, weakening Ingrained with a malady With no cure Yet the reassuring hope And lovely thought Of my serene childhood While's yet refuses to part On the body that turns to dust Like twisted limbs of my memories Trying to reach and remold The foundation of my youth And as the counsel is cast Upon the shores of eternity While the fortress of my will Is fading into oblivion The anguish of DEATH escapes One more time as I Witness the birth of a new morn
If only to breath one more day..

About this poem:
I originally posted this when I was told life was waving me goodbye only to be told 45 days later that I was going to live long after all.
I just got Oprah's 20 year collection. In it Manny tells about his poems and his wanting to be a person of peace. He was my favorite of the show as he was just so positive and hopeful. I'm glad they were wrong.

So much about life can be learned from the shoes of those who walked this life with strength and determination.
All it takes is to listen then let the light of learning shines.

Magnificent write dear. But you need not fear the vicissitudes of life. The work that God started in you will continue until it's completion. What you write are given only to those that have ears to hear. There are none so blind as those who will not see. Wish you health and joy. Cafe

Lindsy Beautiful poem, So glad that you are alive and well, we need people like you in the world. thanks for sharing that, it must have been like winning lotto for you to be told you were going to live..
what a waste of a beautiful heart, and great brain if you had left the world too soon.
Thanks Venus, every now and then we're reminded of our humble fragility, like when we feel falling down the abyss to nothingness is the only choice we have, it's so empowering to know, there's One out there I put my faith on and truly makes me realize my insignificance.
Once in a while my strength is reinforced by those darkness I've gone through and gives me back the hope and inspiration that everything we got through in life is designed to make us stronger.
I'm grateful. It's been 6 years since I battled that tunnel of my life. I'm still alive and strong.

I'm here and enjoying every moment of my life.
Yes Jim was always with a nice things to say.
We miss him. May he be there smiling at us. He knows he's missed.
I wonder if you wrote this poem back then, or you wrote it now...?
there is no doubt that you are a very strong woman
that's what makes me to admire you, and to treasure you even more!
I am glad that you are still here with us, and I hope you realize with what a wonderful gift you were blessed
enjoy the beautiful things in this life as much as is possible!
I have written this as soon as the verdict was pronounced this emotions were as fresh as facing death.
I am still alive and healthy and thank you so much.
