We buried you there in the lizard bare grass laid you down in regimented row
We buried you there on that hill of stones where even sparrows weep in Spring's drizzle dawn
I should have taken you in my bosom and laid you beneath the peach tree to blossom and fruit for the Summer children running madly, circles about your stems
But we buried you on that hill it is the greatest grief

About this poem:
Written as a woman who has lost her male lover - I wondered if I could write a sad poem, hmmm handkerchief please, never again!
You succeeded - no I challenge you to write a happy poem! Oh well - it is winter time and we are all getting winter weary except those down under in Australia and New Zealand!
Well done, dear poet! You succeeded in bringing real sadness to my heart. But "The word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness." (Carl Jung) Looking forward to reading more from you! Many thanks for the poem!
