Old man I see you there Dual walking sticks to help you care And still you soldier on Your grit and determination Is your resolve and my education And still you soldier on Your daily grind along the beach Seems to me so out of reach And still you soldier on With intrigue and respect I have to share Words of thought of your despair And still you soldier on I'm 73 can't you see And my feet just don't want to be But still I'll soldier on ............

About this poem:
This old fella's determination just amazed me ..........losing the feelings in his feet he would walk approximately 2 kms along the soft sand with these walking sticks every day
Pure grit and determination. They don't make people like that much anymore! After living so many years I guess you just learn to grit your teeth and keep moving - what is the alternative I'm always hearing. So true. Take care Nu!

You took the words right out of my keyboard godsprincess: re they made them tough in those days....that steely grit.
I can recall going to my Dad, with an issue, from time to time.....he'd advise me and then say: grit your teeth girl and get on with it! lol
Lovely poem Nuwahri....I can visualise the old man struggling in the sand, though equally determined to make it.
