Death of a rose

Death of a rose.

Once upon a time a boy bought his lady roses, she forgot them. She let them die. So he bought her more, but she ignored, so he cut her more, with thorns in his fingers torn from the scissors the blood red roses showed his lover his love for her is as forever! So as a symbol the 12 new freshly cut roses were immediately hung up side down to the wall around their bed. But even that beautiful dead rose couldn't impose decay.

Seven days

Seven days.

Seven days drag by, again days end sans you. You wont see if I cry, or smell my hairs shampoo. I won't know your hand's are cold, or why you're feeling blue. All my thoughts are untold, but they are all of you, and the love that we withhold,

It’s never enough to say that I’m sorry caught between what I can give and what you want from me. It’s hard to believe I ever said we were meant to be. This love is tearing me apart at the seams. There’s more to what you say than it seems but I can’t

MOCK TURTLE SOUP

MOCK TURTLE SOUP

This poem I wrote after the dissolution of a deep love who sadly lost everything he cared about to a serious drinking problem. I grieved helplessly as a beautiful strong intelligent man lost himself to alcohol. He could not stop, even though he feared losing everything. 'Tempting eternity' was his flirtation with the bottle and the death of his former, stronger self; that gradually crumbled apart...

How I Envy The Sun

How I Envy The Sun

A poem about missing the one you love and being envious of the Sun because it touched them when you couldn't.

Catch And Release

Catch And Release

The man, or woman, of your dreams isn't always easily recognized. Hidden behind our own visual, and often peripheral subconscious, in fact our matings, unlike most all other species is predicated more on visual perception more than any other sense. This poem tells about a man in this case, who was made aware that a woman was in love with him, but because he had other admirers he opts to choose another option that proves very quickly to have been a mistake. In retrospect he realizes that the woman whose love he rejected is one he could have been happy with, and given time come to reciprocate her love.

Letting Go ... Moving On ...

In my mind's eye, when I looked at what should have been our "holding hands" ... I saw that yours had silently released its hold , like mute falling pearls let go from its strand of gold ... Loved you too truly to make any deman

I Saw You Today

I Saw You Today

I saw You Today I saw you with someone else today when you blushed for all to see, your happiness all around you lay but, was it that you saw me? I saw in your eye a glistening light or, whatever it might be, my eyes ached at the very sigh
