WILDANDREADY

EVERY NITE

I SING SONGS TO MY FOUR LEGGED CHILDREN PAST AND PRESENT; IN HOPES THAT THEY WILL NEVER FORGET THEIR DADDY AND THE LOVE WE SHARED! MAY WE ALWAYS FEEL THAT SPECIAL BOND THAT KEEPS THE INCREDIBLE VIBRATIONS FLOWING FROM BEYOND! DARLINGS; I PROMISE YOU THAT ONE DAY; WE SHALL BE TOGETHER AGAIN; AND NOTHING SHALL GET IN THE WAY OF US REUNITING; FOR ALL ETERNITY! TO THIS I PRAY; EVERY NITE!

THE MAJESTIC SQUIRREL

JUST A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT SCRAMBLING ENDLESSLY THROUGH THE DAY AND NIGHT! THEIR TAILS ARE A WONDER TO BEHOLD!

THEY CAN STAND IN ONE SPOT FOREVER FOR THEY HAVE TO BE SURE THAT THEIR PATH IS CLEAR AND HARM IS NOWHERE NEAR!

I HAVE FED THEM PIECES OF THIN SLICED MEAT, AND I COULD HEAR THEM SAYING; THANK YOU FOR THIS WONDERFUL TREAT!

MAY THE SQUIRRELS SURVIVE FOREVER MORE, AND THE DIVINE ONE PAVE THE WAY, SO THAT THE MAJESTIC SQUIRREL CAN FOREVER ENDURE!

She fled for her Life

She Fled for her Life

She was running for her life
feeling his hot breath and his
clutching at her clothes. Crashing
through the trees and thick undergrowth.
Stumbling, still feeling him getting closer
She gave a muffled scream as tumbling over
and over she fell down a steep embankment.
Lying there dazed a tongue started to wash
her face. Opening her eyes she realised that
her pursuer was a friendly boxer who thought
she was playing, never realising he had nearly
scared her to death as he grabbed her clothes.
thankfully she threw her arms around his neck.
Completely lost, she said, you will have to find
the way to her new friend, swiftly he led her back
to the road and sat by her car. Looking closely
she could see he was a stray and let him into
her car. So all turned out well for both.

Miuil

While looking in a field of green
I see something, no doubt
A spot far in the distance
Too far off to make it out

A figure in the open plane
A solitary thing
With nothing else around it
Far away from anything

While looking at this object
We then see it start to move
The spot starts to get bigger
And its silhouette improves

It starts to take its shape
We see it's body and it's feet
And then it's right upon us
We are privy to a treat

We welcome such a lovely steed
A really friendly lad
His name we're told is miuil
And his story is so sad

Each day he sits out in a field
Alone, in solitude
Were grasses hardly grow at all
Which causes lack of food

He roams around this open field
No shelter from the rain
Wild winds blow in from everywhere
to run would be in vain

He can't escape the elements
No matter where he goes
but that is not the worst of it
Not everybody knows

This problem is a mental one
It lies within his mind
It's getting worse as time goes on
As bad as you will find

See being alone for so long
Leads to stress, anxiety
Where most would simply lose their minds
If it were left to be

But if a home were found for him
And lots of company
Recovery would not take long
And he would be happy

So if you may know someone
Who would like to take him home
We promise them, they will be glad
And he'll happily roam.

Steven

First seen, was wandering round the woods
Abandoned, left to die
How could a person be so bad
Sometimes I wonder why

When found neglect had settled in
His body worse for wear
Starvation played an awful part
And also lack of care

He struggled just to walk around
Collapse was on its way
His bones were there for all to see
From lack of food each day

But still he had a little strength
To up and run away
When people tried to get a hold
And rescue him that day

It really was a lucky thing
That he was found that day
If he had not, the poor young thing
Might soon had passed away

He must have known how bad it was
From how he acts since then
Won't let nobody get near him
No matter where or when.

But now he's in the hands of Paul
A man who really cares
Who'll make him look like other
Lovely stallions and mares

He'll clean him up and feed him well
And comfort he will give
He'll build him up so before long
He'll have the strength to live

And soon he'll get back to the days
Of grazing, mind at ease
Without a care in the world
That thought is sure to please

Then come the time to find a place
That he can call his home
A place where he can live his life
With fields where he can roam

The search is on, to find that place
An owner will be found
Who really cares, who'll take the time
This person is around

Who'll take him to a comfy home
That person he'll believe in
And he will be their gracious steed
Oh yes, his name is Steven

Little Cat

Little cat what are you at as in the woods you go,
Are you chasing birds and mice I'd really like to know.

You wander back when you need food though you really are quite fat
Then jump up on my knee or go to sleep upon the mat.

Little cat what are you at for two days you've been gone
I've looked in the house and searched the woods you've never stayed out so long.

Oh little cat at last your back and you look so very thin
If you could only speak I'd like to know where you have been.

Ah! Now I know my precious pet I followed you to where,
through the hedge in an old wood box four tiny new kittens lying there.

You really were a clever cat you didn't make a fuss,
Just had your kittens by yourself and then came home to us.

This is Balu's story

This is Balu's story
A poem for Balu
The prognosis of a home for me is not very good
Just one of many abandoned in my neighbourhood
I'm not the prettiest and my coat don't shine
But I long for somebody just to be mine.
Out in the rain, the cold and the frost
I'm all but given up, my cause is lost
I see no future, and my past was bad
But living with a hunter was all that I had
All he fed me was mouldy old bread
And that was on a good day, well enough said!
You see there's too many like me, abandoned to our fate
Disgarded like rubbish at an alarming rate
I'm luckier than most, I'm alive and I'm free,
Because most of my friends are beaten, then hung from a tree
There seems to be no end to this, it happens every year
We're the unseen dogs of Spain, the forgotten who live in fear
So if you see my photo, I'm a podenco named Balu
I don't want to be a hunting dog, I'd rather be with you.
I dream of the day when I can say I no longer have to roam
When life could be good, and I'd be happy living in a home
But for now I'm in a kennel, and I'm taking up a space
But I dream of all my tomorrows, and living at your place.
Please don't forsake me, I'm a podenco called Balu
Show a little kindness, and let me come to you.

Save the Anopheles Gambiae Mosquito

When you think of animals you want to save
Many cute and cuddly ones come to mind
The giant panda
Tigers
Whooping Crane
Blue Whale
Asian Elephant
Sea Otter
Snow Leopard
Gorilla
Tasmanian Devil and the Orangutan
They're pretty and they're popular
Me, the bloodsucking malaria spreading mosquito
Not so popular
We kill more humans than any other animal on the planet
That is of course if you don't count humans, they are really #1
So there are no charities out there for animals like us
None for the tsetse flies
None for scorpions either
So the whole animal charity business is a popularity contest
How much money does the average snow leopard get
Compared to the CEO that runs the charity?
Not much I bet

About this poem:
I have been recording Alice, a sitcom from the 70's about a waitress at Mel's Diner. Just about every commercial break they have these snow leopards that are facing extinction. Just thinking of some other animals out there not making any money for these charities, like the mosquito.

Have Mercy on the Animals, they have feelings too.

See the little fawn, move too fast and she'll be gone.
She knows to run away, when the hunter comes to spoil her play.
Have Mercy on the Animals, they have feelings too.
Have Mercy on the Animals, they feel just like we do.
Mother Cow's out in the field, so much milk she can yield.
Father bull he tills the land, providing grain for beast and man.
Have Mercy on the Animals, they have feelings too.
Have Mercy on the Animals, they feel just like we do.
See the birds up in the tree, they also have their families.
Build their nests way up high - just like you they don't want to die.
Have Mercy on the Animals, they have feelings too.
Have Mercy on the Animals, they feel just like we do.
Have Mercy, the mercy will be shown to you.
Have Mercy, and mercy will be shown to you.
