The Rose of York

Moonlight shone upon my path
a get away before me

silent doors closed behind
a grief hung upon thee

moonless nights
i sat amongst the reeds
tears of salt i tasted

no more unkindly love
to me it would be wasted

dripping gown a hidden frown
my run was neer at end

please let me just swallow
the touch of a voice

mellow

blanket sadness overcame
a wretched beast is I

anger filled my hearty soul
a smell of sea
spurned my cramped and broken body

daylight burst
from lids of lashes

tiny feet holding the weight
give me the power

clenching the future

wayward is the wind

My crown I leave

along with all the traps
no more

I ripped upon my straps

what is one free but to see
I must stand upon the land

let go

barefeet upon the sand

my wind my friend blew the careless fun
my rain I drink
the summer I basked
the autumn
I smelt the rotting of the new coming spring

To indulge in buds

and dance myself away

Off With A Bang

When the chinese used fireworks for celebrations
They used a black powder called gunpowder, it has two
Practical uses for making harmess fireworks or creating
Explosions for rocket missiles during their wars, the same
Was also used for rifles and guns, they celebrated their
Chinese New Year with these exploading fireworks, but as
Time went on the gunpowder was used to make a huge
Explosion by a man called Guy Fawkes, he planned to blow
Up the British Houses of Parliament, his plan misfired and
He was caught along with his accomplices, and sent to jail.
England now celebrates this night as Guy Fawkes Night
It is on the 5th of November, and families get together
As they burn an effigy of Guy Fawkes on a bonfire.
They also have a large firework display during this event.
Yes gunpowder has many uses and it is used for good
Purposes as well as evil, it can be also used in Dynamite
An explosive which has been used in construction in
Various ways for good, or misused by theives to blow up
Bank vaults, but all these different variations of uses
The end result is that it nearly always goes off with a bang.

I HAD A DREAM THAT OBAMA

I had a dream that one day
One Black African Male American
From the great state of Illinois
Crossroads of a nation
Bless by the perfect God of creation
Shall take the "Yes we can't"
Make it into "Yes we can, Yes we can"

I had a dream whispered by slaves
Path the trail now in their graves
That Barack Obama
A Chicago Senator
Shall become President, America it is now evident
Yes we can, Yes we can

There was a King
That took us to the mountain top
Now there is a King, who says "Yes we can" non-stop
Did you see the races, the faces
Serenading in joy
Victory for their boy from Illinois

I had a dream yes he can
Bring justice and equality
Yes he can to opportunity
Yes he can please the old
Yes his rhetoric is good as gold

He said there is no Liberal America
No conservative America
Just the United States of America
Yes he can, yes he can
Barack Obama believes in change

I am the majority

Tragedy a fact of life
many suffer for the spoils from yet another war
deception corruption they know not of poverty
Minority in power living pretty
They care not for the majority
zoned out on tel lie vision
another fukin fantasy
living hell suffering globally
enslaved without chains
used abused like a donkey
in a false sense of security
better off dead helps their economy
Check out their strategy
its been in place for centuries
Yet won't tell you in lessons of history
Don't believe the hype
living large is the way to be
another lie and deadly sin
they may fool some all of the time
I just want love peace of mind and harmony
Pen my thoughts through poetry

About this poem:
People in high places governing are so full of deception
I have no faith in people who are out to have total control of our lives. They create so much living hell globally and yet never face trial for their crimes against humanity and reap the power and control

Governments

Governments seem here to stay
With the public's money they waste away
On useless things that do the people no good
Get rid of governments I think we should.

We work and toil on our lands
While they take our money from our hands
A land of opportunity for some
A worker's work is never fun.

We try to build our homes to live
While governments drain us like a sieve
Debt they seem to pile up instead
With financial problems over our heads.

Our governments should look after us
Instead they treat us with disgust
Why do we have to put up with them
Those governments created by men.

a governments legacy

this city has a spire in the middle,
the needle of irelands despair,
cost us money and lots of our riches,
this is our city so fair,
a government in ruling our ruination,
as the clock in the liffey stood still,
time it is running out,
a country so wild ,
yet so beautiful,
yet this is all we have got,
rocked by mass unemployment,
emegration heavy on everyones heart.
a government yes they destroyed us,
as they made us pay for what they ill got,
bailing out these so called scrouges,
fair is the state of our nation ,
poor in everyones heart,
this is the state of our nation.
rich and peasants miles apart,
gambling our childrens futures,
as job creation,
plays a nessary part,
now this is the state of our country,
ireland a nation in despair

Silent

Woman......too silent
As a girl touched
In the wrong way
I was silent
A teenager touched
I was angry and silent
As a young woman touched
No respect was given
Still silent
As a woman too silent
To demand the respect now
On the street the young men "Pssst"
No respect I am given
Silent again
No
Not again....... Not ever again
I will shout.....I want to be heard
No more silence....I must be heard
Don't touch me....not in that way
Don't touch my daughter.....she isn't a plaything
I will not be
I will not be
Silent
No not silent
Anymore

Values Lost

On the news, just today,
A child with a gun.
Inside a school, killing all,
My God, another one!

Whats happened here? How can this be?
What have we become?
Why are our children lashing out?
With hate, at everyone?

Where are their parents now?
Why aren't they safe at home?
Why are they being raised by television and constantly left alone?

There's no respect, there is no love,
There are no consequences!
What will it take, how many to die,
Before you find your senses!?

Little Lamb

I am a child of God
no shoes upon my feet.

I have no house or home
I live upon the street.

I struggle every day
I just want to survive.

I ask myself most every day
Why am I still alive?

One night when I was crying
I heard a voice so near

I jumped with fear and worry
She said, I will dry your tears.

I've come for you, I need
your help
Your Father's waiting there

A world of dreams unlimited
A life without a care.

I said, where have you been
She said , I've been here all along

When you were weak or tired
It was I that made you strong.

I opened up my eyes and saw
a bright and shining light.

My heart was warm, there was
no pain
despite the cold dark night.

She said, my child once you
were lost
your shepherd you have found.

I said, you're sure it's me
you want
She reached without a sound.

And then i knew without a doubt
that my life was all done.

She said, Oh don't be silly child
Your life has just begun.

peoples plight

oh it could of been the armoured car,
or it could of been the gun,
instead it was the germans thats were it all begun,
,
banks in gambling money,
they ignored the peoples plea ,
sold of the irish human rights,
to protect their dignity,
the government our christian rights,
as they moved the vatican out
jobs now ten a penny ,
this reward is what we got
,
tax there is on everything ,
down to air we breathe,
sick they lie on trolleys,
as in poor st vincent helps them out,
oh leave us a little on the bone,
as our children are our future,
ohh whats this bloody nonsense taxes on our shite ,
as we all struggle hard in life,
we are the fighting irish,
who fought hard to keep invaders out,
now tax the ruling government with wages way to high,
bring back the armoured car ,
and the f---ing gun
the land of saints and scholars ,
thats were i am from,
we are the servants of the rich,
who get very little pay
all we get is cuts and more
they gamble each and every day
