Though the maze

Through the maze
of uncertiantys
through the pain
and the fear
through the valley
of broken promises
and the friendships
they wear
on the banks
of wishfull thinking
with MY bridges
burning clear
I slowly
start to wonder
why
am i here

Children of Africa

Children of Africa

The sun, a ball of fire...a brazen orange glow
Dried up riverbanks, no water there to flow

No crops, means no food, what are they to do
People out In Africa need help from me and you

Children crying, even dying
Eyes shrunken in their heads

Tattered clothes, no shoes on their feet
for them no comfy beds

Filled with pain, a mother starts to cry
No milk in her breast to feed, her child will surely die

A war zone all around them, danger everywhere
the world sits by and watches, doesn’t anybody care?

Children should be carefree, playing and laughing out loud
not laying in a hut somewhere, covered by a shroud

We moan about such trivial things, what comic books to buy
I now think of the African kids, I let out a frustrating sigh!

So much that we can do, we have more than enough to share
Donate some of my pocket money, let them know I care

I know that is wouldn’t take much
To show these starving children, a tender and human touch

I wrote this poem back in the 60's when still at school - remembering the haunting visions of the suffering children.....and today all these years later still the hunger, the famine and the pain.

FUTURE GENERATIONS!!!!!

i was a survivor, b4 i was a fighter
i was analyzin, b 4 i was a writer
and ive been a ryder, scence b4 i was outta dipars.
im the fluid inside, of the lghter, igniting the fire
im brighter at night, like lightning storms, and stars
but like phantoms in shadows, i camoflaoshe in da dark
im a norse lord, like odin, loki, and thor,
once i open the door, youll c theres more to explore
let me pour u some more of these gory stories of war
fill ur cup up with blood, guts and gore
all the sudden someone runs up... erupts in c4
and another loved one, ends up in blood on da floor,
if this is justice, then whats the government for,
they got money for war, but none of us that is poor,
they over run another country yet leave us on the floor
thats y da governments a bluff, i only trust in the lord

Generations

Austerity measures and how it ranks,
priveleged politicians with food a plenty,
so many now going to the food banks,
is this what my generation worked for, to be so empty,

My Fathers father fought in the last war,
wounded and his very life near spent,
worked and died before his pension he saw,
austerity measures is now this intent,

Now the idea of paying more in so you gain,
sliding scale of state pension due,
how many will make the score in the 68, 70, 75 game,
in proportion to population so very few,

How blind are we to be,
this distortion to the working class,
only the rich will ever see,
politicians and governments go kiss my a**.

About this poem:
Just my sounding off at this stupid political regime this country has the so called House of Commons has reverted to the Cromwellian era when the rich controlled the state.

Distractions

All the news talks about is the cops killing black people
The commercials selling pills that poison
Drones flying overhead
The weight loss diets
Cell phones
Endless gadgets that require vast amounts of money to maintain
distractions from peace
distractions from our connections to others
distractions from our connection to God
distractions from our connection to nature
Time we will never get back
Time to rest
Materialism
The cult of it's not important how you feel, but how you look
Lies told to scare
Lies told to make obedient consumers of us
Consumers of worthless crap

About this poem:
Just thinking of all the things that the media pumps us with that really is just propaganda. We need to spend more time getting right with ourselves and each other, than hitting the malls for the latest gadget.

Guilt

thank you everyone!

About this poem:
Witnessed this incident yesterday where guilt was written all over a girl's
face as she was confronted of something wrong she's done. Made me think why humans tend to find it easier to justify the action or become defensive instead of accepting and apologising. The good thing is in this case the young girl has a healthy conscience, guilt made her do the right thing in the end...adults are not that much different.

Humanity

Why do we long and crave human company,
When together they can cause trouble and strife,
But solitary loneliness challenges ones insanity,
Feelings and emotions struggle in this life,

I did not ask to be who I am,
This makeup of me is all that I have within,
At times tears can well and flow for quite a span,
Memories of good, bad and sad send my head in a spin,

One converses with words, emotions and sound,
When alone these feelings are in compartments all aligned,
But silence of walls and ones mind confound,
Without human company were are all in a bind,

Love is the biggest devastation to ones heart,
Hit by the bolts of blue, feelings and emotions collide,
Fired by the closeness and longing creates a new start,
Inevitably sometimes things falter and slide,

Trying to keep ones humanity in balance,
Crying or laughing out loud hysterically,
It`s like matching that quilt with the valance,
The noise is needed to prove that this is my reality,

So one claws from the depths of depressed life,
Fighting those closing walls of silent insanity,
This is why we put up with the trouble and strife,
Because we all need to belong to the family of Humanity.

About this poem:
Sometimes one dwells too much on what is going on around them and this can become an obstinacy in ones mind.

Some People

Some people search for that loves dream,
love is definitely not a players game,
whilst others do their best to scheme,
why break others hearts its a shame,

Some people deliberately set out to hurt,
whether its physical or emotional,
treating others like dirt,
everything has to be confrontational,

Some people don't want to know,
hiding behind their veiled photos pane,
all their words are just for show,
nothing to look for, nothing to gain,

Some people are genuine and true,
they have proper feelings and emotions,
these people are the ones that feel loves due,
given the chance will have loves devotions.
