“Christmas” the celebration reached again
New Year also near
What we did in the past
What we will do in the future
It’s nothing to worry about in the present
I am taking the oath “I will just follow the truth”
I looked at my right and left
I looked at my front and back
Every where I can see “Sin” more than “Truth”
This is the time to take the oath
“I will just follow the truth".

Everyone ......has a reason
To express ...what they say
Some just to heal....Others
For recognition.. their way
Whatever ......their choice
Whatever ..........they say
Open.............. mindness
Is.......... always the way
For writing .....an reading
Is ...........to be blessed
More luckier .....than some
Whose life... may be messed
Everything .that is written
Will always... be critiqued
As .....the balance of life
Is just.......... so unique
Teaching my boy to rise above
Things .......that maybe said
Bad comments ....not regarded
Will never mess with your head
As adults i would have thought
That ...some tact would be had
And respect ...to All who read
Whose company... we share glad
In a..... very public platform
As regarded........... as this
People........... come to read
The poetry........ ......Bliss

As I sit day dreaming, I've often wonder, how much anguish must be endure for HUMAN-kind to realize simple mistakes? "Mistakes" fueled from night time calculating, mistakes made to fan the flames of day time perpetrating! Mistakes that are preconceived from a capricious moment. When will HUMAN-kind accept the inalienable right of another to realize a dream, or a grasp at success, or an ideal of love! What those who plan these mistakes fail to perceive is that the greatest weapon of all HUMAN-KIND is HOPE! There is hope in every individual that life will be all that it can be, I know, because without a doubt, there's still hope in me!....

About this poem:
I wrote this poem out of frustration with all politicians who refuse to admit mistakes of any stripe. P.S. Not trying to be political, not trying to offend, it's just what I feel.

they say we'll come to our end one day
they say we just won't matter
they say we'll become our own prey
with thoughts as mad as a hatter
they say we'll run out of water
they say we'll run out of food
they say we'll kill or be slaughtered
they say we'll come to no good
they say civility's near an end
they say there's no use in tryin'
they say our actions only portend
civilization's weakness's underlyin'
they say we don't know what we're doin'
and perhaps it's true, we don't
seems like the whole world we're screwin'
but maybe the prediction's overblown
maybe there's another bend to turn
maybe there is another angle
maybe 'stead of like before, we'll learn
to sort our emotions to better unscramble
maybe love can actually conquer fear
maybe there's a brighter dawn to come
today's weathered is tomorrow's all clear
maybe empathy is our new rule-of-thumb

It's fun to get up there and sing a song
Sometimes to get a laugh
Sometimes to get a laugh without planning on it
My last song was Stan by Eminem
My first karoke song was 1979 by the Smashing Pumpkins
My biggest laugh for Adam Sandler's At A Medium Pace
Some songs haven't gone over so well
Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time
Billy Joel's Allentown
I have to admit sometimes I sing a song to mess with the audience
Now I am singing songs that are related to Halloween
My next song will be The Blob
My song after that will be Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
I started singing karaoke in 2001
I have been singing every week since then
I do one song a week at a bar called Brothers on Second
This is in Platteville, Wisconsin
I have sang around 780 songs so far

About this poem:
I sing every day in my car. If I had a house I would sing much more, but apartments don't work too well as I like to sing really loud. Most of my songs are pop songs and I try to taylor them to the holidays.

The common law is male,
Equity is female;
Each needs the other,
For justice to be in order.
The common law is lame,
Without equity’s fame;
Equity’s a piece of nonsense,
Without common law’s presence.
When the conflicts arise,
Equity should stand tall,
But upon the common law,
For both make justice rise.
The common law and equity,
What a wonderful blend!

About this poem:
I wrote this poem in 2000 after I finished a course, 'Nigeria Legal System' in my second year at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma where I read Civil Law. I found the blend of both edges of the law fascinating. This will be better understood by people who understand the legal system of the Commonwealth of Nations as well as Christians who understand what Apostle Paul meant by the Law and Grace in his epistles.

I try to write,
my thoughts,
my feelings;
the emotion that pulsate through me, the experience that come before me.
Somedays the sadness
Seems to just stay
Food becomes tasteless
Life now gloomy
Since you went away
The heart breaking truth
But our lust I don't regret
Life is full of mistakes
what is life if we don't learn?
what is life if we don't greed?
Not only for money,
but love,
trust,
even beliefs;
and for some of us,
just simple peace.
And so the world is built on our wants and need;
shelter,
food,
water,
clothing;
wanting riches and non-necessity
We sleep our heads on feathered pillows,
while others rest bitterly,
waiting for a better tomorrow.

Nursery Rhymes for the modern age.
Baa Baa dumb sheep.
Are you really such fools?
Yes sir, yes sir, the taxes you can pull.
But none from the bankers, or those who reign,
Everything must be taken from the many poor that live down the lane.
Jack and Jill went up the hill to build a lovely dormer
The economy fell down and broke the town
And employment came tumbling after.
Before up got Jack, his home the banks got
As fast as they could caper
The politicians were in bed with the banking head,
All election promises had just been on paper.
Hey diddle diddle, the politicians were on the fiddle,
The bankers jumped over the moon.
The property developer laughed to see such fun
As the Government ran off with your silver spoon!
The Grand old Duke of York he had ten thousand homes
He built them on the top of the hill
And built them all with loans.
Before they were even up, he put the prices went up.
And when the economy went down, the prices went down
And when the homes were only halfway up
For purposes of the property tax they were up not down.

[zHis falling tears are like thunder,
\Yet only heard by one
But the world would never know he whimpered
knowing less that he had lost.
Mans worth? His power to weep.
We see hurt on the faces of those we love.
A false smile, a slight facial twitch from pain
concealed, digested by their soul
We scream for answers we do not have,
To questions they never ask.
Mans worth, His power to weep.
Their tears are bred from independence
But we are not gods.
Our worth? Our power to weep
holding the weeping silent they scream ino themselves
And in their blindness, from tears held back ,
They see our helplessness,
Then their worth is found in their power to weep,
For us!
But their final thought? "My tears must never reach the light"
Man's worth? His power to weep for man.

About this poem:
Men don't cry. Some do, not many. Ithought how excruciating to pretend you don't hurt for that is when it hurts most.
"Cry and you cry alone, But laugh and the world laughs with you
