MIRROR MIRROR
The reflection from our mirror
only shows the image
we want to see.
It may be that others see us as
we really are.
Content with themselves,
but deceived
by their own delusions.
Vision is not the simple thing
we imagine it to be,
but a fragile thing
shaped and molded by one’s past.
The old man sees his only love
as the young girl he met
so many years ago.
Others see her differently
Their pictures being painted from an image
which can be seen through a
clear glass, or distorted by the minds eye.
So what is the reality of vision
if not the same for everyone?
Perhaps it does not exist!

About this poem:
I used to laugh when I heard " she looks the same as when we met 50 years ago" from a man married for many years.I NO LONGER DO SO!
Look Past.
Walk past the circus clown with a fake smile plastered on.
Walk past the strong man lifting weights to impress.
Walk past the trapeze artest always flying high.
Look past them and see the gentle caretaker, making sure the clown remembers to smile, the strong man remembers to eat, the trapeze is safe.
Look into His eyes, those eyes are special, there is where I want to be.

Eternal Romancer
You sit with her
Listening to Venus
And watching it
Disappear into the Dawn
As the Sun rises over
The silent City
Of a Sunday Morning
This is Romance
With her on a Mountain top
As the Sun sets far away
Into the eternal Sea
This too is Romance
Maybe one Day
I shall meet her
And those three
Words that say all and nothing
Will be spoken
Between us
And share a million thoughts
The essence of my core
With her
Then I will know Romance

FREEZING NIGHT
I was moving with a couple of thoughts
Straight to the market with steady trots
Hustle bustle of the market shaked my head
To bring a doll, that she loved the best
Or was it a hat, on which she protest
I was moving with a couple of thoughts
Straight to the market with steady trots
My wife asked for flowers with buds newborn
To look beautiful she wants herself to adorn
Oh ya ! i had to take medicine for my father
He must be waiting for me rather
I was moving and moving in a shimmering night
To fulfil my daughter's plight
Further was waiting for me a mishap
There was a BLAST when i openend the flap
I was moving and moved so far
My friends and family now looks me in a star
My daughter still waiting holding my pic so tight
Still on the terrace on that freezing night?

The standard.. miss perfects mr right scale is about one or two bars higher until they recognise him after a drink or in candle/moon lightsearching paradise
awakening in
early hours
looking into
a night sky
in morning hush
staring at
a smiling moon
little lambs bleating
echoes carried
into the night
floating out
into the distant air
crying sharing
my night
with you
floating over
closing eyes
trying to peer
of into the future
over the moon
and back
kissing you with
her silver fingers
in touching you
a treasured dream
looking into
the far off
distance stars
a universe
floats on
a paradise green
i am the leprechaun
and you are
a fairy queen
early hours
looking into
a night sky
in morning hush

Somewhere good is left
Somewhere love is there
Somewhere we have met
And we'll meet again somewhere
Tell me that red balloons float across a deep blue sky
Tell me you have a painting of butterflies
Tell me the things you like to share
And we'll meet again somewhere
Somewhere there's a custard stand
Melting ice cream on your hand
Memory footsteps on the sand are no longer there
But we'll meet again somewhere
Beneath the stars when the moon turns blue
I'll turn around and look for daja vu
And what other word could be to compare
And we'll meet again somewhere
