My dark night

She stood in the shadows screaming
Never saying a word
She looked in the distance wailing
Never seeing a soul
She listened for a long time moaning
Never hearing a sound
Her tales are endless
Tales of anguish
Tales of pain
Tales of sorrow
Tales of shame
Wounds that never seems to heal
Misused and abused not respected but rejected
A woman of much scorn
She was tarnished
She has lost all affection
She hated to be touched
Hated to be embraced
Hated the sight of all men
They tormented her
She was overwhelmed with panic attacks
They gripped her painstakingly
Her cries for help were never heard
She sort refuge in dark and dismal places
She shun every crowded street to trod down lonely places
A safe heaven a comfortable get away for her
Day in and day out she lived in constant fear.....fear of being rapped
Fear of being sodomized
Fear of losing sanity
It bereaved her
Every look every stare accelerated the blood running through her veins and paralyzed her soul
Those looks brought shame and guilt to her she was sure that everyone knew what she had done how terribly bab she was
She was badgered by criticizing thoughts
Was it me?
Did I encourage this?
Did I welcome this awful tradegy?
Was I to be blamed?
God gave me a mouth, why did I not say anything?
People must think I'm slack to have allowed such things to happen
That's why it continues to repeat itself again and again and again
She was angry sad bitter
The hurt the pain and the shame were more than she could bear
Her emotions formed a whirlwind in her head
Death seemed to be a comfort for her, she sought it but it never came
She was burdened and wanted to be set free
She searched tirelessly for a getaway but her back was against the wall freedom was not in sight.
Moments of intimacy were torture to her...passionless
She felt nothing
Thought nothing
Said nothing
She laid there motionless pretending it was all good but in essence she was never really there
She felt violated
She wanted to scream but her voice was all choked up
She wanted to lash out but her hands were all coiled up
She wanted to push them away but she was comatose
They were predators heartless demanding criminals
Who tore through her flesh ruthlessly
Invading her private space and defiling her childhood
They robbed her of her innocence by attacking the very roots of her being
The most precious part of her existence
Self gratification did nothing to ease her pain
Neither did excommunication
Being pregnant was the epitome of her distress
She hated the one who had impregnated her
She wanted to strangle him kill him he was a demon in her eyes for no good and decent person would do such a thing
She was a great mother inspite of her struggles but there were times she couldn't bring herself to embrace the male child
Not that she didn't love him but after all he was a MALE
I saw her and I knew
Her eyes said it all, they're the window to her broken troubled soul
Her crushed spirit and her messed up mind
She was overshadowed with a spirit of heaviness
A damsel in need of healing words warm hugs
Reassuring word and undivided attention
She needed someone to show they
TRULY
Someone to put this ragging tempest to rest
But no one took the time
No one shared her pains
No one saw her tears
No one saw her scars of misery and no one that was anyone belived her story.
So she kept it all bottles up inside fermenting an animosity and distaste for all men
Pinning away in her despair but never giving herself away
A black woman of many pains
Imprisoned in her own Guantanamo Bay
Trapped by shackles she sort to break
Her suffering were boundless they ran deep beyond the ocean floor
High above the starry skies and lengths across the width of the earth
She had dreams

City Reality

The City is a bee hive but there is no Queen....
So inhabitants have no order everybody chasing their own dream.
A colony of concrete building rising up from hot paved sidewalk,
Shoulders marching in business attire and on their cellphones they talk.
They are building something but not sure what exactly,
Only following the expectations of society.
Shoppers with shopping bags of various purchases they may never need,
Thier ego and others desired expectation they feed.
Strollers with babies pushed by bent back, tired Mothers,
Inside the exotic clubs and bars you can find the Fathers.
Theaters filled with people with no imagination,
Churches and cults with lost souls without a vision.
Teenagers dressed in the latest fashion,
Heading for a future with no income to survive on.
Yet the City draws people from far and near,
Got to get that dollar is the only voice they hear.

She arrived on the country bus with such hope, her best dress and a sparkle in her eye.
Ten years later that country bus took her back home with a swollen belly, addicted to drugs and the sparkle had died.

Stop!

As long as I live
Through all that I give
I will never understand
The hatred that abides
In mankind that hides
And makes the eyes blind

It seems so hidden
With no real agenda
Disorganized and fleeting
It lacks a civil greeting
And yet
Its hard to forget
That the biggest discourse
Are people on this earth
Quite a formidable resource
How then do people give birth
To hatred and strife
In this precious, short life

Shouldn’t we be inclined
To help each other out
Of that there is no doubt
Rather than being confined
No matter where we live
Just reach out and give
Truly be alive
And not to deprive
The love that connects us
To our human kind and forgive

Our beating hearts connect to all
Love and respect is our call
Arms wrapped in colors
Helping each other
Eyes of many colors
See just the same
It doesn’t matter
Our hearts still shatter
Black, white, yellow, red,
If there were purple and green
I fear the abuse would still be there
So utterly, completely absolutely obscene
As we all inhale and breathe the same air!

So, Stop
Don’t say another word
Think before hatred spews from your mouth
Toward strangers you meet in your life
Uttering innuendos that cut like a knife
I’m talking about real love that’s what it’s about
Hold your tongue, don’t accuse, bruise and abuse
Another who is just like you, yes just the same
Only a different color, culture, race and name

People succumb
March to a new drum
Deflect, connect and disinfect
Redirect your faulty interconnect
A great cosmic master plan is in place
Written to set us free and is for every race
Three powerful words were penned
Helping us to defend, ascend and extend
LOVE, HONOR and RESPECT
To everyone we meet and to comprehend
These powerful words meant to protect

So, what went wrong with the world
With this blatant hatred and strife
That became a great strain on life
Love should run through our veins
Mitigating all the stains
Beating in our hearts
Giving life
That binds
Colorblind
Together
All mankind
Under a peace shelter
Making our lives better
Through tears and trials
Separated by many miles
I still look for the smiles

Those that know truth
Fortunate and knowing ones
Hear the sounds of the drums
The beat that keeps united love alive
Utterances of prayers that peace survives
Shielding us from others neglect
Those three words so perfect
And to each other we connect
Helping us to protect
Through all the profanity
Our human dignity

About this poem:
I overheard a horrible conversation today, which brought tears to my eyes and a little scene in the store. I had to pen my anger at how hurtful and uncaring people can be toward other human beings because they are "different"...it makes my blood boil and my heart ache!

Women have dreams

This is for my ladies. Better yet as we call you babies. Are so we call you so. How about my b*tch, or ho. Sorry am cursing in this poem, but theirs a few things I need to know. Women thru out world history help mold the world what it is today. You can see their work in display even till this day. Madam C. J. Walker; first million dollar women; but more importantly help hair care. So every time you get your hair fix, a part of her you share. Rosa park; help freedom movement and get people to march on their feet. So ever time you sit up on the front on the bus after a hard day of work; thank sister Rosa for that seat. Harriet Tubman; suffered bad injures to free slaves ,and the first woman to lead an armed expedition in war. So ever time you think you can't go on; think about what Miss Harriet had to go thru to free people, and you will push yourself even far. Florence Nightingale; help to show the world that nursing is a true profession as a trained profession in our modern day. So ever time you go out nursing someone in bad health, or known someone who want to go to school for nursing; man or woman; U got to thank Miss. Nightingale for proving the way. Oprah Winfrey; first African American woman billionaire, and first African American first African American syndicated talk show host. So ever time you see a successful black African American syndicated talk show host on t.v. (Tyra banks); you have to give thanks Oprah at that most. Althea Gibson; first African-American woman tennis player in any port. So ever time you see a black woman in tennis(The Williams sister); you have her to thank for breaking the color barrier in that sport. Furthermore, I can go on and on about women who made this world a better place of any race. You're more then just a pretty face. 'You are so beautiful' in and out, and shouldn't accept abuse, being use, and be contain. I know that lame sounds, but woman around the world help move many grounds. So you need to stop disrespecting yourself with unnecessary words, names , and slutty clothing for sexually gains. Making yourselves more degrading for men sexually games. As men we should have many shames, and blames for some our women lower their self esteem. With 'you getting to fat', 'You shouldn't be looking like that', 'you ain't no good to me no more', 'and shut up you hore'. As men we need to stop treating our queens mean. As I shown in my writing; woman thru out history stead out fighting for people rights, and society. Woman have dreams. You don't have to depend on your husband to stay true. Independents, stand up for yourselves, do want you need to do to make yourselves, and other respect you. Love yourself, Love you. You all are hard working 'every day people' in this World. You're no more dad's little girl. The world is your clam; its time to shine. Stand up for your rights, fight, and grab your pearl.

Irish Smiling Eyes

Deep millponds of self-criticism and undiluted love
Razor Blades that cut through the tendons of sensation
Protected and hidden by time and mind
Deep intense scars run between the shoulders

Nothing is revealed in words……All behind delighted eyes

Fatally wounded together in time and place
Love for lost soul mates and all humankind
Something is mine and mine only to share
Secretly tucked away in my heart

Nothing is revealed in words…..All behind secret eyes

Curling lips wave gently into a pleasurable smile
Positive body shape piloting towards intimacy
Searching eyes see my ruptured ligaments
Sensations sting muscles once severed

Nothing is revealed in words………As my smiling eyes.. see

Imagine if...

Here is something for you to think about, Imagine if we was awoken each morning by the sun rays, that will tickle your skin, to the sounds of birds in the horizon how beautiful would that be,

To wake up surrounded by nature waterfalls, streams breathtaking gardens and fields. Animals playing not worrying about them getting slaughtered by poachers. A place where you can also grow your own fruit and vegetables, To explore what this world has to offer the true beauty’s of nature, we can dream hey,

Imagine this to if people supported each other not expecting anything in return, a unconditional love, a love that you automatically respond in time of need to be heard even. It seems that people are stuck in a world with their own problems, not wanting to help in a way to be heard for once,

I expect all of us to try regardless, no bull shit excuses, such as i have my own problems to deal with. Their is no need for selfish behaviour, We came here as spiritual beings to love, to protect, not for this place that i call hell, a place we live in today, is not a life where we feel free from harms reach, we need to love, not to hate. To respect people to understand each other’s needs, what is happening to the old fashioned values,

Here is something else for you to Imagine, Love is just an illusion! The connection does not exist, unfortunately love has died “so has the old fashioned morals! Happiness is just a dream Love is a feeling we dream, whatever love may be just stays in a dream of hope to keep ones soul going, to live in hope, to believe that dreams can come true,

But love what is love? We fear the mind, we fear the unknown, and we fear the truth “we fear far too much, we have reason to fear! Life is how we make it! Imagine if we all saw life through the eyes of a child? Imagine if people could have the ability to love?

My Valentine by Knhaylah

I know my heart would break
But I had to let it be so
Cause if I didn't let you go
I know my tears forever will flow
And with fear of the pain that is to come
I strengthened myself for that hurtful blow
It was hard, so hard to let you go
But I wore a smile, so no one will know
And all the vanities of life couldn't dress the pain
The most beautiful gowns I wore in vain
The truth, no matter how long, could never hide
Cause when I said goodbye to you, a part of me had died
A broken mind, a broken heart, a broken soul
To ease the pain, I wanted to turn back to you.........
A heart that was so cold
I stopped and think and began to comprehend
That with or without you this pain has no end
So dream me a dream for a very long time
Not in this world or the next, you can never be.............
My Valentine

Baby I am Yours

I wrote this poem especially for you
not being around with you, I really felt blue
Love is our connection
To you I dedicate my all affection

Meeting youwas like winning the grand prize
but I definitely choose you, above a sum of all size
The moment I saw you my heart was sold
The two of us together will never be cold

We met each other some time ago
It was the first time we said "Hello"
My love is so strong it makes me fly
I love you so immensely, that I cannot deny

All of you is what I need
Please tell me where it can lead
Until soon, when we meet again
I will please you in whatever way I can

Gulf

urban
from
ancient
times
between
two seas
of salty
tears that
rain down
unrelentingly
while freshwater
springs up like hope
bubbling to the surface
may this aquifer remain
an oasis in the dessert
as the sands of time
blow across the
seas
