A Poem for a Scholarly Gypsy

I've read your words they honor me;
emotion thoughtful I could see.
And so I wrote you back to say
The words you wrote have made my day.
Thank you for your gift of thoughts
meaningful emotion will not be forgot.
I could not email you in the end;
But a reply you've got merci my friend.

A time in Time

A gathering A time to say hi an recount, life of fulfillment amongst selected friends. Red spot of wine lands on their shirts, as the glasses reflect the mood of the time. Lady a the house she sits in a smile finger in point as she smiles in her chat. As the man sits in wait of welcome arrived guests, heart sits in the smile to the shake of all hands.

House is in smoke .....scalloped ones boil over, windows all work as the house breaks of mist. Thanks in the giving of the time to be spent, friends from way back another weekend of us.

Spirits sit in glass waitin lips to sip way, at the end of the table one more beer an some chat. Eyes connect a sec an say all's ok, sun's in full full an soon moon full cast.

Venture in day of splendid filled time India pale ale an infuzion bottle wine. This is real time according to them, as they chat up a guy involved in some write. They say a man an women can't be friends without touch a skin, kept behind closed door for the world not to know. Ya know it can be if it's kept in real time, a friendship for life an no skin time in share.

Thanksgiving dinner all in behold friends talkin tales to story of yore sharing a day that worthed such in talk, laughter between all who's involved. Close friends to the end in back watch to each, one day in the year's three sixty five!

Friends...

We are...
more than friends...
more than that,
because you touched my heart,
with your desires.

We are,
more than friends...
more than that,
because I go crazy,
if I cannot have you.

We are,
more than friends...
much more than that,
because I miss you and I need you...
like a thirsty ground miss the water,
and as the day need the night.

more than friends...
because I have your dreams and your passion,
more than that,
because I possess your soul when you smile.

A Friendship

How is it?

I don't know...

I bear my soul to you and you accept it.

You tell me of your fears, I take them as they are.

I say thing I would never say, the secrets deep within.

No condemnation, no judgement, only understanding.

You reveal the torment, anxiety and pain you could not share,

My heart is cut, I weep with you.

You give me words, advise or thoughts. You never push.

I hug you from afar and see in you what you can not see.

We give, we take, we laugh, we love.

We cry, we curse, we shout, we stare.

That which we can not see, into the dark we stare.

Together.

You push upon me nothing but your care.

I offer up to you only that wich I have.

Never taking what is not ours, Never pushing upon the other.

How is it?

Coincidence? No.

But for a reason.

Two paths that met,

Two friends that bind,

Two hearts that share,

How can it be anything,

but friendship.

This

is what it's meant to be.

Thank you my friend.

About this poem:
Something I wrote for a true friend. Few and far between they may be, but once you have a special and dear friend, life is so much better. They truly are a blessing.

empty pockets

When the raindrops fall
on the garden of your heart
outside the sun is shining
roads wrongly chosen
memories so frozen
though the catalysts
of summer bring a smile
when memories had style

run far and wide
nothing to hide
talked in the darkness
as planes flew overhead
she loved you as a brother
file with a memory and time
catalyst of past years

yesterday full pockets
coins and currency
lined you so very well
but today empty pockets
is all you have to show
bought up memories
paid in friendship
secured in love

I

Waisted all my good years
on pipe dreams
Taking chances has taking
a towe on me
All this time
Ive been biding
until I met you
.
Ive got a reason to beleive
Ive got something to hold on to
I sleep easy knowing your beside me
And this world doesnt seem so cold to me
.
waking up beside you
gets me going
looking into the eyes of my wife
I never dreamed
that Id find somebody
but sometimes I feel I waisting you.

Unlike Any Other

Friends, I've had many.

Most who know me, would say they are my friend.

Few, less than a handful are true friends and those, sad to say, we rarely speak.

I had one, so very special.

We spoke almost every night. Got together whenever we could.

In my past marriage, our friendship never interfered.

In fact, she was seen as more of a family member.

But she was mine. My friend.

We listended to each other. Talked for hours.

My ex (then wife) would go to bed.

I'd get the kids to sleep and pick up the house.

Then we would call each other and talk endlessly.

Funny, we didn't have to try. Conversations never dwindled or got boring.

I was free to talk about anything as was she.

Physical contact was no more than a hug.

We had an appreciation for each other unlike any I've ever known.

She's gone now. Where, I don't know. Somehow, we lost touch.

I miss her.

I have maybe two good friends now.

One I see, if lucky, once a month.

The other, far less.

It isn't the same.

I miss her.

I miss my friend.

Maybe,

maybe someday.

maybe not.

Shawnee

Shawnee woman
walks the earth
lost to love
not to worth

good looking woman
getting by
stateside woman
been tossed aside

deck of cards
play the game
win some
loose some
midnight rain

shawnee woman
in the hall
love has seen her
love will call

days of dark cloud
horizons black
good time woman
shes coming back
