A Beautiful Mind

What is the meaning of a beautiful mind?
A rarity of beauty simply thoughtful and kind
A Concerning voice for all the worlds ill
A desire to be heard neither quiet nor still

Never a word spoken harshly, or with malice
A white ivory tower set in a crystal palace
Impulsive thoughts to settle all the wrong
Speak up! Don’t dither! Resounding, strong

The purest love for all things living and born
You have your right to exist, it will never scorn
A saving soul for a blue beautiful world
Battered by mankind with their greed unfurled

We see the blood flow from your questions
A haemorrhage of concern seeking suggestions
Neither ceasing nor resigning from your quest
A determination of steel to seek out our best

A beautiful mind never demands exemption
Just justice imploring us our redemption
Never hiding from truth, demanding the facts
Moralising without impunity, never ceasing in acts

What is the meaning of a beautiful mind?
A caring person requiring us our bind
Fighting for right not fearing exclusion
A statue of Liberty with no illusion

Wine and Sea

The seas had receded, but they took their time
As if opening that fine bottle of wine
Meant so very little to the uncouth
Ah the blessings of a wasted youth

That had not yet drunk from the cup of wisdom
So our little world was still their kingdom
But the seas would return, sometimes in a rage
And youth would become man, but still no sage

For they still did not savour Chateau Neuf Du Pap
They preferred the rage still to the gentle lap
But give them time, like all fine matured things
They learn perhaps circles are actually rings

But wisdom of age is not the sanctuary of the fool
He learns that the steadiest seat is the three legged stool
But like fine wine the young will eventually mellow
And understand a raging sea is not a good bedfellow

Hasten not though to drink from the sea of tranquillity
Do not let those learning years pass in mediocrity
Read Kipling’s IF as you breathe in the air
And those seas may then be calm and treat you fair

For real learning is not always in a philosophy book
It is in those people you thought old and mistook
For they only fish where the cormorants would circle
For the long race was won not by the hare but the turtle

For time and patience has taught them many things
They learn that not all circles are necessarily rings
Drink slowly the wine and savour the taste
And you just may find those years have not gone to waste

WHAT....am I....???????....2 (SOLVED)

You cannot correctly call me either up nor down,
Though I'm Somewhere beneath the top, or crown,
Under opposites too,
Or, if you dreamed on a midsummers night,,
I could meet you!

Let Me Fly

Though you can not fly with me -

Don't drag me down,

Let me fly!

Though you worry I will fall and die -

Don't drag me down,

Let me fly!

Let me fly, babe, let me fly!

* * * * * * * * * * * * *

Cut your ropes, untie, let me fly!
I dare to touch the sky.

Wings - unfoldered and open.
Fear - emraced and broken.

Who is coming with me? - I invite.
You will see rainbow colour of white.

About this poem:
I wanna fly, don't ya stop me!

I am in the wrong world, even more, I got stuck on the wrong little island with mentality back 100 years. And you know, I am not tired of growing old! My mission is to make the world a better place, to leave it better than I found it. And I MAKE changes I am proud of. When people say "But what can I do?" I always reply "Stop saying But what can I do and do something!"
I am a paralegal Consultant, I am a Human Rights Defender, I am a Challenger of a State I live in, besides, I am a water rescuer and tonight I am starting my abseiling and firefighting course as well.
I do save people both from death and from abuse, I do fight and change the laws and policies in the Country I live. Yes, I know what you say, I am a superwoman. But I do not want to be less. It is the only life I have.

Dare to fly?

White colour consists from a rainbow set of colours. Far not many people can see it. Far not many people were born to fly either. When people of different levels meet, one starts to lift up another, while another starts to drag down the first one. Both of them are trying to match their levels to get along together. Until they rebel, one or both.

A Single Wish

What would I do if it was bestowed upon me?
Use it wisely, could I save humanity
Would I be selfish, and hope for wealth
What good is money if I lost my health?

Could I save the Planet, turn all to green
No natural disasters would ever again be seen
What of the animals, don’t they deserve a chance?
To survive naturally, no death from mans lance

Would I cure all disease, no more pain?
I will cause overpopulation, not the earths gain
Would I rid our race of all the malice?
No more wars, living in an Ivory Palace

Should I make the Moon shine ever more bright?
No more darkness, just light, bringing sight
What of compassion, could I create this desire?
Would it banish the hate, rid us of our ire

So many choices, so many just reasons
Bring out the Sun, change all the seasons
Make the flora flower throughout the year
Bring happiness to all, no more shedding of tear

I am too indecisive the choice is not free
I now know for me this was not meant to be
I shall wrap it in a box, and send it to one so true
Have I told you today that I love you

A Poets Challenge For all to join

I have came up with 2 starting lines that I really enjoy but some how my imagination is in idol right now.I am asking the poets of this corner to finish this poem using these 2 starting lines is the only rule.

A thousand steps
walking a crooked fence

Lets see what you great poets can do with these two, I believe magnificent lines. Look forward to what you have come up with.

Kickit......

Tomorrow!

Tomorrow!

We are born and are soon full grown

But what’s it all about

The day doth follow the sun

And the moon & stars command the night

We populate the world, have Wars & Sickness

Live forever in a human fright

For we know not why we are here

Members of a food chain, wrong or right

To propagate until the end of judgment time

We fish the sea’s and fertilize the land

Eating cattle, lambs, chickens & swine

What have these poor creatures ever done

to us, for us to eat them and so to dine

Create a better world, I ask you why and for who?

Tomorrow’s children will be grown up

and soon departed too!

For someday we may be part of a secret plot to make us all into a chicken stew

And when we depart this place called earth, where or where, do we go?

Are we to be eaten up by a dark hole in outer space

A neutron star, a quantum leap so to speak

Is there such a place, will we be left within this darkened place until a gravitational collapse?

Of men or mice as the saying goes

Please don’t ask me what happens after we are gone, as I believe no one knows!

I hope the stories of years gone by are true
that there is a safe heavenly place for me & you!

We all have to venture into our heavenly tomorrows alone.

Of course if we are like an ant that is stamped on perhaps it will suddenly end and we will be no more ~

I wonder what tomorrow will be like or if there
will be a tomorrow?

Buried

I gathered
All of the loneliness
And laid it to rest
In a tomb
Named “Hope”
So many attended
To say their
Last goodbyes
And wish
A final adieu
To a now
Forgotten emotion
Who had haunted
Them for so long
They smiled
And caressed
With hands
That could
Now feel a future
The tomb
Named “Hope”

I gathered
All I could
Of life’s emptiness
And sealed it
In a bottle
Named “Desire”
And set it adrift
In the sea
Named “Tranquillity”
Never more
To again
See the shores of life
So many attended
To bid their
Last goodbyes
And wash away
An unwanted fear
Who had journeyed
With them for so long
But now
Was cast aside
Like he’s brother
Who lay
In a tomb
Named “Hope”

And of all
My gatherings
The most that
Brought me comfort
Was “Despair”
For my journey
Had finally allowed
Me to cast aside
This
The most destructive
Of my Demons
And once again
I could taste
“Life”

A few extra pounds

A few extra pounds weighed
heavy on her mind
But her electrifying smile
was one of a kind
The other girls in the office
could swish and sway
They thought slim and slender
would win the day
But their pride was hurt when
that man walked in
And just passed them by with
roses in hand
So handsome was he you could
hear them swoon
But his feet kept walking into
another room
His heart was set on the real and
true
That's what he saw in her eyes
so blue
He approached her desk and you
could hear no sound
He lay down the roses then
spun her around
The girl who could carry a pound
with grace
Was surely the desire of this mans
taste
And as he gently slipped her from
her office chair
The slim and slender had no
strength to bare.
