Six penny Pete

reclusive, a legend, a land mark of town not a one knew him, gossip'd fingers they'd point, schooled well town's away, he cleaned up the streets, beer caps, bottles, mufflers made ends meet. . . silent an private framed on fourteen size feet, see six penny Pete's got a story not told the diner's back door he goes there to eat, silent lips been with him all of these years, a painful past that emptied all of his tears, such is the story of six penny Pete. . . .

I Weep In Silence

I weep In Silence

My tears fall to the floor
As I am falling, I cannot see
I lay in darkness I cannot move
I find myself surrounded by silence
I know I must get a hold of myself
However, for now my feelings are out of control
My heart has been shattered
However, I still lay in darkness
I cannot see the light
I feel a soft breeze brush up against my face
Who opened that door?
Where did that light come from?
I never noticed it before
Oh, look! It is my redeemer
Now I can breath
I am able to stand
I am able once again to reach God’s hand

Don't give up

Reach
stretch your hand
for someone
when your blue
never stay afraid
never be alone
there are people
who would want
to reach for you

don't give in
don't give up
don't go under
hold on
or reach
for a friend
always someone
will be there
be it people
or God
someone will care

don't give up
you are too
valuable to lose

Down in a valley

Down in a valley
is a river
that's flowing free

I hear it calling
this river
calling to me

Join in my passage
past the banks
of the tall oak trees
past towns and cities

Run now and run free
down to the ocean
to a doorway
to destiny

Born for the river
my heart is telling me
so goes this dreamer
oh so willingly

Follow the bends there
places you never see
once past forever
on my way to the briny sea.

Freedom of Speech

We're all quite blessed to be so free
And share our points of view.
We're free to speak our minds and thoughts
The same as others do.

We're free to raise another's spirits
Or malign them as we choose.
We're free to sing of joyful thoughts
We're free to sing the blues.

We're free to focus on the good
Or dwell on what we hate.
We're free to praise a noble act
Or sternly castigate.

We're free to offer heartfelt thanks
For blessings we have had.
And we're free to curse and voice our hate
Of things we think are bad.

We're free to choose the things we say
And choosing well is good.
Because we're free to denigrate
Is not to say we should.

If we wish to right atrocious wrongs
Our silence cannot do.
But in speaking of what's very wrong,
What's right must be said, too.

Without a message loud and clear
Of what things must be done.
Vitriolic words of hate
Are clouds that blot the sun.

Leaders rise and pave the way
And pull their comrades from the ditch.
But change for good is never made
By those who only want to b*tch.

blurry picks

the F's are all stopped
only shutter at the image
the edges are all cropped
field of view, gone, askew

in a flash it all changed
this depth of perception
focal points all rearranged
just some 3D deception

don't see though this lens
all life seems just to hurry
can't seem to recognize trends
seems image all too blurry

the frame too dark to discern
click it now and change the focus
what we seek is what we yearn
to bring clarity, life's great locus

Moroccan Dreams

Land of sunshine, land of dope,
just have one of these and get some hope
C'mon.
Mix this green with some baccy from my tin,
Then relax,
and enter a world where future is the past and present too.
Where life is love and dark turns bright,
where all that is wrong will soon be right,
Cool....Outa sight!
Where sharp tongues are blunt, square corners are round,
A misty world where colour is sound.
So, just light a spliff and live anew,
In a gentle place,
Where everyone's a friend and you love them back too.

I am..

I am a little star
On the blue sky
Who shines in the night.
I am a little bird
Who flys till the sky.
I am white rose in
A big garden of eden,
I am a human being
In this big world.

Rhetorical Questions

Do you really need a lover's touch?
Doesn't life go on without it?
Can you not enjoy things just as much
When you're the only one about it?

Do you really need to deeply care
For someone that you want to know?
Is being alone so much to bear
That living so you cannot grow?

I'm afraid in this is shallowness,
Some scrambled words with meaning void.
For who could truly answer "no"?
and have a life that they enjoyed?
