DARKNESS TO LIGHT

The sky grew dark and gray
The earth and trees began to sway
All living creatures trembled in fear
As the end of the world felt near

The scent of blood and death was in the air
Cries of pain and agony were heard
Carried on the winds causing great fear
Not knowing the cost of forgiveness came dear

Mankind’s Light of the World died that day
And the darkness of souls were portrayed
Down into the Tomb of Hell the Light was placed
The Sacrificial Lamb of Grace

The Light of the World was in darkness for 2 days
Despair and hopelessness of all rampaged
Without the Light feeling bewildered and lost
Watching the Tomb of Hell covered in moss

The morning of the third day
The Light of the World again shown to display
That the Tomb of Hell was open and bare
A miracle had just happened there

The soul had risen from sin’s Hell
The Light of the World had arose to tell
All had been forgiven their sins
If they ask for it through Him

Thus Mankind’s physical body dies
But his spirit will live and rise
For the Lamb of Grace was the ultimate sacrifice
We have his gifts of Light and Eternal life

The Light of the World was snuffed out
For 2 days and nights in darkness and doubt
The third morning it shone again
To Light the World and Heavens without sin

About this poem:
4/9/2023: Another Easter has arrived and he has given this World so many chances. Will we have one more year of chances? Orig. message: Recently saw the movie "Risen" and it inspired me to write this poem. I usually like to write something light and more about nature. However, Palm Sunday - Good Friday - and Easter are coming up and I wanted to do something in honor of all the suffering my Lord and Savior went through and just how big a deal it was for all of Mankind. Thank you for reading even if it wasn't quite your cup of tea.

To Forgive

To forgive is sublime.
Bordering on devine.
Make the climb.
Perhaps it's time!

this is not a poem

To all my dearest friends at pc.

I want you all to know that I love you all very much. As I'm writing this, tears are clouding my eyes. And let me tell you, I don't cry easily. Strength has always been my strongest character. But the last 16 months of my life had made me shed tears enough to create my own ocean.

Most of you had shared if not all you somehow knew the extent of what I have been through. Please allow me to make a short revelation since I'm already deluged with questions but I will make it direct to the point. I survived two cancers. Last April of 2012, I was going to die after 3 months. Most of you prayed so hard for me specially Paloma, Lady B, Libby, Lady Morgana,Cameal, Addy, my friend of 35 years, Tess (thelmaTalla), who invited me to join here, and so many more of you that knew, but most of all the man I loved so much. You all know him. He held my hand and kept me strong. And, I will never be able to repay him nor can I thank him enough. He received all the info and no one else. Not even my lovely children knew anything about it but him.

Given the circumstances I was in, made me act so unnaturally me. But felt so much love from all of you here specially him that I loved.

Well I survived and I believe I'm too much of a bad seed and not quite punished enough. Lol. But my love didn't.

I would have chosen to completely disappear but this place is too addicting so its all your fault. In fact, more addicting than love itself, I think.

When I said goodbye one of you wrote and I quote." The good thing about leaving is that you get to come back". I didn't realize how amazingly true that is then until now.

Most of you made me feel this is my home. I live in each and everyone of you and your magnificent writings that I get to read for free. Thank you so much.

I can't be untrue to myself pretending I'm a new person when I'm not. It's still me your true and imperfect friend that love this place and all of you so much.

For those I've come short of your expectations please forgive me. I have written about three items a day but I'm not going to flood this place as respect to all of us is very important.

I love you all and thank you all so much for your contributions, comments, opinions on my writes. I read them all and try to respond as much as I can. It makes me learn so much and continue learning about life more than anywhere else. I am grateful to God and to all of you. My great appreciation to all of you now and for always.

Sincerely yours,

Phyllis

I will always love you

doesn't it seem plentiful
finding reasons
of being thankful
and all the trials
chaos and pain
are but my tools
to make me strong
resilient and able

so you left earlier
than I would have thought
but that is alright
I figured,
it was destined and meant
that I'd be in better hands
as, you would, too
if we parted sooner
than you and I anticipated

for somewhere, someone
out there
was achingly waiting
longing, for the both of us
to be apart and that....
is the reality of life

I just want you to know
I'm grateful and thankful for
the opportunity of knowing you
and partook in your love

and that love will live forever in my heart
whether you're with me physically or not
because
I will always love you.

as I've always had
when I said
the first time I let you
in my life, almost three years ago.

my heart, body and soul
will always belong to you
they never left you.

Clear Conscience. (1st Tanka)

All my sad regrets,
I held firmly in both hands,
My heart felt lighter,
As I approached the cliff edge,
And released them to the wind !

Forgiveness

Forgiveness

We all need forgiveness in our lives
When we stumble or we fall
We err because we are human
No one is perfect,no one at all

As we continue on this life's journey
It may become too hard to bear
Just remember God is with you
When it seems like no one cares

Keep praying for peace and guidance
He will see you through
And at the dawn of a new day
You can start life anew

So don't give in to sorrow
Your journey is not through
Just forgive and be forgiven
God is always there for you

just incase....

Just incase...
the world should end. I've made a few friends, Some relationships came and went. Some, endured to the very end. Other relations could not mend. No animosity, to any of them. It's just life, how things begin & sometimes end.
Just incase...
the world should end. I don't have alot of worldly possession's, to attend. Just some earthly aquirements, attained along the way. Physical attachments, that Will astray, when my life has withered away.
Just incase...
the world should end. I hope one-day we meet again. This flesh embodied, we do not own. It's just a vehicle, that transports the soul. Until it find's a place, to go.
Just incase...
the world should end. I need to say one more thing. I need to let you know, how much I truly cared. How sometimes my own ignorance, ruined the love, I could have shared. Sometimes my fears, shattered my faith. How I've often struggled, to find the right words to say
Just incase...
the world should end, please know, I will always love you till the end..

I Forgot You Now

``You come into my life when i need a shoulder to cry
You help me to find my the way to survive
To see the beauty of life
You are there always when i need someone to listen
To give me hand when i'm down,

I use to live my life of being with you closed to my heart.
You teach me how to smile..how to laugh..
But i never think that one day..
You leave me behind..i though that you are true
That i know everything about you...becouse
You never told me that you are not free anymore..

I want to die..becouse i dont want to know that
The man i learn to love is not free anymore..
I dont like to hear your name..that name that
I love to write every minute in my heart..
I cried a tears..tears that washed my face ...tears
That help my heart to forgot your memories.
I want to hate you.to curse you..but i cant do..
My love is forgiveness...i will let you go..go
And follow your heart..your dream...your love
Its time for me to face the truth ..that.
You are not belong to me..
I forgot you already....

Still,
Yuri~Edna,

A little prayer for peace on CS (and on Earth).

The Earth is deeply, truly changing
We in care are as one engaging
So Let us still our fear and raging

Others can be sorely trying
Leave us hurt, in pain and crying
Being misunderstood can leave us sighing

Yet remember we are humankind
Peace and wisdom we all shall find
Let’ s leave anger at another behind

And so tomorrow is another day
Let us live it in a different way
By putting love in all we say

Speak Not Above A Whisper

June 30, 1992

Speak not above a whisper
Though crying out inside
Sacrificing simple needs
It’s safer just to hide

Betrayed by all emotion
These complex traits ingrained
Some inherent, some are learned
And some are unexplained

All those years believing, spent
Firm, without exception
That some are born to suffer
Granted no protection

The sickness is our secrets
Those shadows of disgrace
Damning truths we still believe
The hope our fears erase

Speak well above a whisper
Shed safely all concerns
Life has been a frenzied maze
Of complicated turns

Stand and earn your freedom
For now, look not behind
You have enough to deal with
You have yourself to find

About this poem:
I was two years sober when I wrote this poem. I was in so much pain and confusion was a daily event as I stuggled to sort out the reasons I drank. It took many more years to find my voice, find my anger and take back my life. This poem is one of the first awakenings that I even could...take back my power, or that my life was my own. A poem to you. Life saving therapy for me.
