The little poet writes
nicely of his nice wife,
his nice kids,
his nice university,
the nice dead mice
he found on his nice
snowy road,
and his nice guilt for
sleeping with his
nice student.

but some are tornadoes
of words, whirling,
scattering books out
of the clouds-
Blake the tornado
Whitman the tornado
Neruda the Latin tornado…
Words fly out of their mouths
like spittle or kisses;
their passions and anger
fill the unruly world
and then comes the critic,
creeping along with his
two pairs of pants,
and his reservations
(most of them for lunch)
and his nice distinction,
semantic notions,
and his box full

Someone so familiar just to be around,
But the silence between us deafens every other sound.

Courteous pleasantries so obviously fake,
Were dancing around each other performing a silent swan lake.

I dont know anymore if it was me or you,
Both locked in our own solitary confinement not knowing what to do.

A lighthouse on a desolate rocky shore,
The thunder of crashing waves, sea and rain batter its ancient wooden door

A beacon in the darkness perched high above the spiral stairs,
Illuminating the shadows and your angry stares.

The light forever turning like hands upon a clock,
I try to find the real you in the shadows of the lighthouse rock.

I remember all the happy moments and the light behind your eyes,
Now Im living in their shadows exchanging pleasantries and lies.

I want to ask the question to know what went wrong,
Too scared to listen to the answer to hear the fat ladies song.

So we sit in silence two grandmasters studying the board,
We both pretend nothings wrong but know that were both bored.

Bored with each other, bored with where we are,
I need to say its over but your smile is like the morning star.

It could be just for a moment or it could last all day,
Like an addict I take what Im given and forget what I wanted to say.

notes in song passing by
golden threads of time
marking stitches in a rhyme
weave which we believe
without the boundaries we conceive

You've taken up so much time in my mind
what you did to me is now not worth taking into my day
I have forgiven you so I could save my body
from killing itself in the pickle jar of this old hate

I bare the scars from the inside to the outside
I carry those around and I have turned them into my own magic
and I've turned my fried emotions into saying this to you

I woke up this morning and my heart felt empty, it had no spring or summer only winter, the cold reached down inside of me touching the parts that once had sunshine and warmth, grey skies filled every image of you I once held so close , My mind and my heart filled with nothing but sorrow, pain, regret and the want for forgiveness, where once lay a Raynebow now there was darkness, a darkness created by stupidity, envy, jealousy and personal need, I have nothing left inside of me except a small corner where I huddle under a once clear sky that now holds darkness and a small fire called hope that is fuelled by the belief that my raynebow will return to me and once again brighten up my heart.

There was a girl with a heart of gold
But she was so naive
One day her heart was stolen
By a careless foolish thief

He enchanted her with sweet talk
With flowers and a gift
She thought he truly wanted her
But did not get his drift

He promised to love her
And filled her head with lies

Was the thing between her thighs

When he got what he wanted
And he was gone for good
The girl's heart turned to solid rock
She was in an awful mood

She locked herself inside her home
Her heart was barely beating
She looked so thin as if she starved
Since she was barely eating

Her eyes got red from crying
To him her mind was chained
Her skin got very pale as if
Her body's blood was drained

One day that man was searching her
He'd wore a golden ring
He got married with another girl
But wouldn't tell a thing

He tried to approach her once again
By telling he still loved her
She saw the ring and told him
She would not become his lover

He explained her why he got wed
But in his mind he'd always hold
The precious treasure she possessed
Her heart of shining gold

She forgave him but she told him
That he had to let her go
She was no longer his to be
She lied to him although
She knew damn well her heart would always
Belong to that one guy
She loved so much with body and soul
But he would make her cry...

Can you not see that this is me.
I am the same as you. I see with your eyes.
