Beautiful Intelligent Talented Conscientious Her

I always stand firm for my beliefs and rights
I am comfortable in Gucci suits and even in tights
I hold my head high in darkness or flood lights
I am a woman who will take on all worthy fights

I know what I want and goes about getting it
I would rather die trying than quit
I am not afraid to enjoy my reward and profit
I don't go around with the words envy and covet

I am a woman who uses her wiles to her convenience
I demand; never ask for lenience
I believe in letting all see my prominence
I know when to hold my head in reverence

I am not afraid to take my chance
I try it all; sing, jump or dance
I am adventure; intelligently enhance
I demand you take a fourth or fifth glance

In any room I am the light switch
That one person you just cannot ditch
That one person you can count on in a glitch
And for that my detractors call me a b*tch

Translated Beautiful Intelligent Talent Conscientious Her
I am loving it

A Christmas List

A Christmas list for
the world..
for us all-
That we shun the lust
and greed that leads to
war and the unspeakable
attrocities we commit against
one another-
That we view wealth as a good
thing until the quest of that
wealth leads us to devalue the
worth and natural rights of
people-
That we are graced to see that
mercy, compassion, and justice
is the crown jewel of human
character, and is a pearl beyond
price-
That we see that all the achievements
of man are not worth a single life-
That we are bound to repeat the mistakes
of the past so long as we believe we are
made in the image of the mere beast and
not that of God-
That are destinies are not determined by
the motions of the planets, but by our
free will to accept or reject the revelation
of divine providence in our lives-
That on any given day we can be either brilliant
or stupid, but that we are endowed with the God-
gived intelligence to steward the earth and resolve
the seemingly insurmountable problems that have
beset humanity from time immemorial-
It is time to awake to Christmas..
to Hope-
It is the morning star that awakens the sleeping
man who wallowing in his childlike preconceptions
and in his wandering on the earth in the futility
of his imagination-
A list for the poor lost soul seeking to exact
revenge on those who would steal his goods-
A list for those who seek atonement in the
retaliation of war..
for those who believe that man is the measure
of all things-
For the scientists who burn the midnight oil
seeking the ever illusive God-particle and end
up relegating their origin and worth to some
primordial soup-
A list that would kindly remind man that there
still remains a star atop the Christmas tree-
A star worthy of notice..
The star of Christ~

FUNNY THING

Funny thing....The human soul,
Yep!
It comes with us when we’re cracked out of the mould,
It’s so tough, as tough as can be,
We test it hard every day just to see,
And yet.....It so easily shatters,
If unexpectedly.....
We lose someone that really matters,
Then, we hurt so much, we think it can never be healed,
But then quietly, unnoticed, out a miracle is wheeled,
Along comes time,
Rounds and smoothes every sharp break, every jagged broken line,
And to help, with a little tender loving care,
Sticks it all back together, stronger than before, so sometimes,
You can almost forget, it ever broke or the hurt was ever there.

summer night commute

on the bright side of tonight
everything seems ok, an indescribable way
the glass of the moon half full
as I ride, windows down, to the breeze

the night-time interlude of thoughts
or dreams wandering minds and roads
lights ahead just enough to allow for
expectation and anticipation of bends

in my life, maybe tonight or tomorrow
but for now it's a serene painted line
that I ride beside, dashes ticking
like a long distance clock, dash...
dash...dash...tick away this

haloed night, soft and tender, hardly
anyone else is out here right now
just me and the dashed clock
listening to the music of the asphalt
and humming memories of you

a stanza of stance

it's often been asked if God is willing
to make it so, and stop all the killing
but maybe that's just not in God's plan
and God's left that decision up to man

Indefinable?

Thoughts tip tapping busily about my mind
Brightly hoping inspiration to find.
So I kneel to ask a delicate elf
She says,' it’s a feeling beyond regard for self.'
Next, in a jar of wisdom I take a peek
It says,' love is a lesson taught by the meek.'
Now I know that this implies no lack,
It means love cannot ever harm or attack.
So I question the lining of a drifting cloud
And the answer is whispered not very loud,
'Love is the infinite possible feat,
Because it requires giving without a receipt.'

On Lonliness

Alone doesn't always mean lonely,
Sometimes solitude is just fine.
And lonliness can be just only,
A matter of your state of mind.

You have to be comf'trable living,
Within your owm skin first of all.
And then you can think about giving,
Some other lone spirit a call.

Perhaps you may then meet a kindred,
A yang to match up to your yin,
Some someone to catch your intentions,
Who's been to the place that you're in.

Don't worry there's somebody out there,
So til the right one comes along,
Just hold your head up like you don't care,
And greet each new day with a song.

The Very Best!

The Sun shines for us, wherever we are,
Through beautiful minds poetry, near and far,
Like two children, in a field at play,
Making daisy chains, jumping in the hay,
We have rainbows for skipping ropes,
Both our hearts, soaring with hopes,
The silver raindrops, upon which we dance,
Make us dare to take our life’s chance,
Tonight, we’ll swing from the stars and the moon,
Singing, making up as we go, such a happy tune,
And when our play is done,
After having so much fun,
In each others arms, we’ll contentedly rest,
Dreaming of tomorrow, of all good things, the very best.

Dream with me

Dreams ride swiftly through the night
Sensing nearness, closely bright
Fantasy gentle within my sight
Reaching arms of gentle might
Hold on safely, softly, tight
Absent all that is not light
In my mind they wind around
Telling much without a sound
Stronger, wider, touching deep
Tiptoe around the edge of sleep
Each that shines out who you are
I label gently with a star
Beckoning mine beyond the still
Destiny sweetly always will.

A Moment In Time

In quiet moments
a somber tone falls
upon my mind

Time and space is
of the essence

And I am here

Only here

I strain not
against the winds
of fortune

The motions of
the stars I put
no trust

He who is greater
than I will ever
be so

I pay deference
to the Ancient
of Days who
has no shadow

Peace
