West towards New Orleans

Embedded image from another site

Dusk arrives the illusion
the sun not yet seen
above or below the horizon
day and night still linked
such as you and I
one cannot exist without the other..

West off towards New Orleans
the sky an orange-red hue
the sun will later set
no candle on earth can replace it
orange-red to pink, mango smoothie in the sky
I cannot give you the sunset
but I can offer you the night...

Let us walk into the sunset
hear the sunset
the vanity of it's words
I cannot love the sunset without you
the pastel colors have no meaning
listen to the sunset
when you see it think of me
because I will be thinking of you...

Color

One day....
I woke up and stared into the gray
Gray skies....
Gray of my memory...Gray of my mirror
And I too felt gray,
But then outside the window I heard a flutter
I pulled the shade
to see
So beautiful
A hummingbird
Didn't seem so gray to me
For suddenly
There was iridescent blues and green
Flashing prettily
As if to say
Come look at me,
Live and learn
I dare you to
be a splash of color
In this old gray world
And so I dove into my day
Inspiration gained... clad in yellow
And pink, red and blue
Even green
Certainly no gray
For......I choose to be color too.

hope...

Hope

When there is a way there is a hope..
When there is a smile there is a hope..
When there is a blessing there is a key to fulfill your hope..
When there is a spirit there is a way to fulfill your hope..
When you think positively you have showing you have find your way to fulfill your hope..

Seat of kings

A stone round standing fortress crowns forever beauty
The land bows down inspirational the view
seat of the high kings
Overlooking Lough Swilly and Lough Foyle
Eogháin, after whom Inishowen is named
was baptised at Grianán by St. Patrick
our crowned jewel rings in the heart of Donegal
High up on a massive hilltop
it was a place of sun worship
or the place of hibernation of Gráine
a Celtic sun-goddess
With one breathtaking scene
overlooking spanning miles awestruck
sweeping below beautiful country side our forty shades
of emerald green jewel of Ireland
From inside outwards the pen flows golden precious
Here stands a kingdom
dating back to 1000AD
time of tuatha de danann
one dynasty sings over centuries
Legend states that the giants of Inishowen are lying sleeping
but when the sacred sword is removed
they will spring to life reclaiming their ancient lands.
Our ancient ring stone clad in Irish folklore
One such tale relates that Niall Frasach (High King of Ireland 743-770AD
to me it stands out one fort in a test of time
On a clear day one can see five of the nine counties of Ulster
from Grianán's parapets.
A truly magical wonder to behold
still standing in our midst
sings enchanting sweet beautiful
magical music to this heart

sail of in life

this ship sails in one direction
never looks back
only memories they drift by
saying how i feel
cast in this world an ocean of memories
always dreaming of something better
missing what you never had
sailing of into illusion
looks begin to fade
to feel the change
i am only saying how we all feel
born to sail of in this life
from youth matures like a good wine
drinking of it you will be no more
we all still go in this direction
give me a number if you can manage
a mystery like the pyrmids of egypt
old was its destiny
the ship that sails in one direction
our age
all our memories
no one can stop this boat sailing
destained,final destanation our life
until this ship can sail no more
like an eagle my soul flies to the heavens
to be joined with angels

El Diablo

Someone alert the villagers
El diablo and his demons are coming,
they are on the loose spreading lies
pitting all the lovers against each other...

Someone call the curandero
to pitch fire under his cauldron,
and to pick the mystical peyote
to mix the elixer of ancient knowledge...

Tell him to consult los espiritus
to call upon los ancianos,
to seek their wisdom and guidance
on how to run El diablo out of town...

The lovers are experiencing self-doubt
believing what the demons are saying,
we will meet down at the ancient well
where the honeybee and butterfly labor furiously...

we will all sing to the stars
and pray for much lluvia,
to wash our lovers town clean
and to start a new moon...

Then our lovers will once again speak amor
they will hold hands under the new moon,
El diablo and his demons have left our village
because el verdadero amor conquers all...

Tata

Voice of fierce fighter for justice
cries out upon troubled streets
demands equality, freedom, citizenship
walks life’s pathways to Rainbow peace.

Bantu language, tone lowest at end
imibongo shouted from behind bars
vowels, though silent, omnipresent
Ubuntu spread under global stars

Smiles transcend years of pained
imprisonment for seditious acts wrought
honour shines as beacon to all who remain
high the price paid for freedom brought.

From Umkhonto we Sizwe
to Nobel Peace Prize won
world of injustice, separateness
battles fought, path forward begun.

Willing to sacrifice life, limb, precious breath
effort directed to achieve a peaceful end
Faces each new day confronting death
challenges us to finish what he did begin.

Ninety-four balloons ascend toward sky
accompany prayers that he will survive
keeping hungry vultures at bay
buffalo not devoured by lion, today.

As the sun sets with musical strains
of Handel, then Tchaikovsky playing
Madiba, beloved, hears Maker’s call to soul,
as Part prepares to reunite with the Whole.

Where umbilical cord buried, soul belongs.
Fifteen clicks applied as apartheid died.
Out-spoken remains the rebel’s song
until freedom, justice, for all, is applied.

crossroads........

i'm at the crossroads of life
time to make a significant change
the direction i have been heading
seems now out of range

i don't want to stagnate
turn bitter and old
i'd rather be positive
and go for gold

precious they say
is a trade that you've earnt
always to fall back on
never to be burnt

but i've kept a path
straight and true
a simple one
its what i've had to do

many times i've came
to this place before
but always went straight
never opened that door

so many avenues
i don't want to get lost
so many thoughts
each one has a cost

but it's now or never
as the saying goes
if you don't have a go
then you'll never ever know

i've often wondered
about people and their fate
some get it easy
not worthy of rate

maybe its because
they believe in the chance
to open up their lives
not live in a trance

action oh action
'tis what i must do
step out of the shadows
to live a life true.......

THREE THINGS

Just three things I must remember to take…..
A degree of hopelessness so, I could always know fulfilment,
A second of misery so, I would always recognise happiness,
And, but a minute of loneliness,
To always remind me,every moment with you is heaven sent,
…..Three things to complete me, my life to make.

TOGETHERNESS

WHEN A GUY AND A GIRL FIRST MEET; IT CAN EVOLVE INTO SUCH A WORTHY TREAT! EACH DAY YOUR LIKES AND DISLIKES ARE DISCUSSED AMONGST ONE ANOTHER UNTIL EVENTUALLY, YOU WILL GROW AND SAY; I LOVE YOU, AND FOR ME; THERE CAN BE NO OTHER! FROM THAT MOMENT ON; YOU WILL WALK HAND IN HAND; AND ONE DAY, THE TWO OF YOU SHALL ENTER THE MAGIC LAND! I CAN TRUELY SAY; IF ONE OF YOU HAS GONE ON AND ENTERED THERE FIRST; THE ONE YOU TRUELY LOVED ON EARTH; WILL HAVE AN EVERLASTING THIRST! YOU SHALL BE TOGETHER AGAIN; AND FROM THEN ON, THROUGH ETERNITY; THE TWO OF YOU WILL HAVE NO END!
