Eternal Things

Eternal things touch my
moments like a fragrance
of honeysuckle
From what world beyond is
my spirit graced by the
mystic kiss of life?
I dare not understand, but
I patiently wait for the
touch
I know I am not mocked
though I am clothed in this
humble tent of mortal flesh
In my moments dim, eternal
things trickle into my inmost
being as the breath of a summers
night, or the sheen of a womans
hair filling this void like a
pool of strawberry champagne
Eternal things come and go..
yet I wait..for love~

Hobo

Iv'e been ridin' these rails
for many a year with sleepless
nights with a bottle of beer
with this old guitar strummin'
to the wind
They call me the hobo of the
Southern Line and that womanizing
raskel but I don't mind cause I've
got nine lives and I've used up all
but one
There must be a woman in every town
that loved me to death or knocked
me down, and I'd always walk away with
a stratch or two
If her boyfriend didn't whip me her
daddy would so I'd keep on movin' like
a hobo should cause sixteen teeth and
one eye won't get me far
Iv'e slept in a pasture with an old brown
cow and even drank from a horses trowl
and the farmers daughter would hide me
in the hay
She'd steal a vest from her daddy's chest
and take me to church so I'd look my best,
and I knew I had one life to live so I'd
better pray
Well the preacher stood up in his long black
coat and looked at me like I was a joke, and
I knew he was gonna try to make me walk the
line
Sweat was pouring down his head and he looked
at me like I was dead and said, 'Son this is
the end of the line..'
'Now you come here in that fancy vest and put
my patience to the test, but I'm here to tell
you a thing or two
I've preached many a sermon and you might be
the mangiest vermin that ever stepped foot
inside this town
The farmers daughter can't help you now cause
everyone knows you're on the prowl and you
need to come up here and confess your sins
Well.. I got all red faced and swallowed my
spit cause I knew I'd better confess or split
so I humbly stood up and offered my speech
I said,'Surely paster I'm a rolling diaster
and I ain't no angel I admit
I've been ridin' the rail on the way to hell
and I ain't gonna change one bit
So you can stand there in your long black suit
cause in a minute or two I'm gonna scoot-me
and the farmers daughter are gonna blow town
And when our babies are born we'll remember
your scorn cause I'm the slickest hobo around~'

Castle maidens dress night!

A glory to behold!
Tonight the maidens of
Cafe Castle will regale us
in their extraordinary
attire!
There was Odette in her
seductive leather skin
with slits down the legs
Pinkpoetress in her white
satin gown with roses for
a crown
And Lucy in a dress made of
rattlesnake skin with a hiss
to excite the crowd
Marikia in her jaw dropping
sea shell attire with the
scent of an ocean breeze
Thelma graced the scene
wrapped in rose petal lace
Niah came in celephane coulors
enhanced by crystal ball light
Breathless was just breathless
in candlelight tights
Paloma floated in on a carpet
drapped in rainbow colours
Itchy came with a gypsy..his
name not disclosed
Quietstorm slipped in riding a
panther with green eyes like
magic dust
Vyolete rode a white stallion
playing a violin made of candy
Dordeen was carried by knights
adorned of shimmering gold
Lady Morgan wore colours of the
mystic forest
Jeddah rode a lion and she was
to hot to handle
ReaderofSouls came in ivory tusks
carved to fit a queen
Amahlala flew in on an eagle with
the moon in her hand
HappygoLucky came dipped in chocolate..
we'll tell you about that later
Agnata was the tulip queen of midnight
foggy dreams
Maxeen held the key to the magic kiss
and rode a pink swan
Beautifulyou melted the castle gates
with a breath of sensual charm
Redex came as a warrior princess
ready for mid-knight love
Jazzy sailed in on a hot air
baloon tossing roses to the knights
Cloudysky debarked from an Egyptian
ship..with bubbles from ancienct skys
And all the other maidens filed in
one by one..
It'll be a night to remember..Oh dear
what have we done!

Happy New Year!

Thinking, oh, how good it was! Thinking on this New Year’s eve,
Thank you, friends, for taking time, speaking high about me,
Many kind and gracious words may be thus addressed to thee,
You’re my refuge and my ties with the world outside of me.

Thanks for all the good you've done and for more you are to give,
Toast of joy let’s lift to us, toast to luck in joyful glee!
New Year’s coming, we're on eve, let us wish ourselves good things,
Let’s be joyful at a time when our planet takes its leap
To a new and wondrous start! New Year’s coming! Let it be!!!

rebirth

As I surrender to the divine
I'll feel my feelings
not discount them
I wont suppress from fear to feel
But trust in the wisdom of my emotions
I,ll build new tracks within my brain
to replace the old tracks worn and flayed
Infused with spirit of my true self
of smiles and courage to stand up for myself
This journey is a spiritual death to all the negative I was fed
And in my rebirth I shall find the beauty of me to share and respond

UPDATE ON ReaderOfSouls( ROS) ACCIDENT

Hi Everyone,

This is Richard, Mary's husband. I'd like to thank Bill (Fellsman) for letting you all know about Mary's accident. I don't have an account here at Connecting Singles, so I'm using hers to write this.

She was coming home from work in Ft. Worth. She's been real tired since we've had foaling and calving season underway. She blacked out for a moment and hit some ice on the road. She did her best to swerve safely and ended up hitting an SUV which was badly damaged. Her truck is now history and is considered totalled. Out of the traffic on the road, these were the only two vehicles that were damaged. Both vehicles had to be towed and Mary was transported to the hospital. Thankfully, the other folks are fine.

Mary had to have x-rays on her chest and arm. Her chest is fine and she cracked the back of her upper right arm as she braced for impact. The arm is in a cast to speed healing and to make her stay still. She's got a bit of whiplash and her neck is sore from where the seatbelt tagged into her neck. She's definitely got some bumps and bruises. Mostly she's mad because of the loss of the truck (She still has her Camaro which I'm not letting her drive anytime soon) and her own bad luck at having been out to drive for work. She's also mad at herself because the other people's vehicle was damaged as well. Luckily, the truck was damaged on the right back bumper, fender is all bent up and the axle was ruined. The frame is also bent too, thus making it undriveable. It would be about 6 grand to repair.Her air bags did not deploy. So we're going to have to pull our boot straps up and find a new or used truck as we need it for the ranch operations.

The downside to all of this is that on top of the accident and being hurt, unintentionally wrecking hers and another vehicle, the police issued her a citation saying that she was speeding. She doesn't have a death wish. Evidently, the cops here give citations at every accident. Luckily, she has a good driving record, so should only just have to pay a fine.

While the sedatives have been a blessing, the pain medication is doing a real number on her stomach.

She keeps asking me to thank you all most sincerely for the well wishes and for the very thoughtful e-mails and flowers. I'll be posting a poem of hers for you all soon.

Thank you again.

Richard

Who's Viewed You?!!

The long anticipated
day had arrived!
You ready yourself
for the mysterious
date..
The photograph of
them was rather
vague
But the messages were
so nice
So you went for it..
You invited this
wonderful person
to your place for
dinner
Your date would
arrive in fifteen
minutes
You are so excited!
It was getting rather
dark outside and you
couldn't quite make
out the figure moving
up your driveway
Trusting soul that
you are you rush
to the front door
and adjust your
attire
But suddenly you
notice a strange
and rather huge
shape lurking on
your front steps
That mysterious form
stood some 12 feet
tall
Still, you took the
chain off the lock
and opening the door
slightly you gave a
cheerful 'hello!'
There was no reply..
The only sound that
shape made was a deep
sounding Grunt!
You ran and snatched
your flashlight to get
a better look at your
wonderful date
You rushed back to the
door and shone the light
right on this weird
shape
You froze in panic
You could not believe
your eyes!
This was no date!
It was the SCAMMER FROM
THE LOST LAGOON!
Its huge claw clamped
your door and ripped
it from its hindges
Now you could see its
slime dripping face
It had one giant red
eye and IT WAS WINKING
AT YOU!
Its 200lb. tongue
dragged the porch
Yes! It had come for
dinner and you were
Din Din!
THIS, WAS YOUR E-MAIL
DARLING!
AND IT WAS IN LOVE!
BUT TO YOUR AMAZEMENT
THIS THING BEGAN TO
SPEAK!
AS YOU WERE GOING
DOWN ITS THROAT
IT SOMEHOW GOT A
SENTENCE OUT..
IT SAID:
BET YOU WISHED WE'D
MET IN A PUBLIC
PLACE!
GULP!!

For the "?" Poets

Lost among the algorithms;
Is some verse profound;
Buried in archival pages;-
That you may not yet have found.

Some profiles deleted;
(By members who have gone);
Now Endlessly repeated;
By the algorithms song.

Hark the unknown Poets!
In this sea of cyberspace;
(The question marks don't show it);
But the words retain their grace.

Much, this verse is excellent;
(Though they have sought not fame);
And some poets, - they don't care;
If they leave behind a name.

Next time, you are stopping by;
Just spare a thought or two;
For those fine unknown Poets;
Who wrote just for me and you.

IF

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Clouds (Paloma’s Challenge)

Embedded image from another site

As I lie beneath the blues of Autumn skies gazing
Under gossamer clouds like delicate fine silken webs
I feel the soft psithurism whispering as winds change
Creating etched patterns of soft white cumulus clusters
Imagining floating amongst the puffy cotton clouds
Calmness hovering above me in suspended ataraxia
Contemplating cosmic destinations in far away galaxies
My soul is on endless tranquil journeys to a magical destination
As my avatar runs free through cloud strands of statocumulus
The suns heat pushes thunderheads of overcast expressions
Into quiet dullness which seems reverent as coolness brings forth
Tears of light rain falling in remincence of secret celestial gifts
The liquid droplets like frozen crystals born in vast polar oceans
Whirling freely around the universe in cosmogyral timelessness
Centering around the axis straight through my wandering mind
Nacreous clouds of rainbow strewn colors stream into view
While nepheliads play the haunting sounds on an Aeolian harp
And Zeus bears the sky on his shoulders in somber atmosophere
I dream of iridescent ethereal attractions to starrify beyond eternity
