meadow

Come take a journey
into the meadow
feel the cool grass
touching your skin

down to the river
there in the distance
this is a meadow
where birds always sing

even though dark clouds
hang in the distance
see there is sunlight
about to burst through

nature has rain
and stormy weather
but theres a rainbow
not too far away

pastures of green
by the calm water
places where souls
are often refreshed

wide and wonderful
nature is shining
calling the restless
to enter her peace

SHE IS LIKE A CANDLE

SHE IS LIKE A CANDLE
IN THE EARTH
THIS WOMAN
UNDERSTANDS THE MAN

SHE IS THE ONE
MOONBEAMS LOVE
LIGHT OF STARRY NIGHT
BURNING BRIGHT

EACH MAN
NEEDS THIS STAR
WHO COMES
FROM AFAR

SHE IS ALL
IN HUMAN SENSE
I AM THE MOTH
TO HER LIGHT

KISS THE FLAME
YOU WONT BURN
HOLD THE FIRE
FOR YOU YEARN

HERE IS
THE MYSTERY
MAN AND WOMAN
ENTWINED SHOULD BE

Chilled

Fires in snap bound to echo red brick church. Brass bell sits in wait of it's mono tone in flow. Air throws wash of sun horizon coloured trees. Ends filled midst boiled sap on tetered embered growth. Grey skin explodes to steal flight into air. Embers to charcoal three more logs one more chair.

STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND (Part 1)

The cold chills me to the bone,
In this place, I feel so alone,
There is no sun here, the keen wind blows,
The cloud around me isn’t telling, though I think it knows.
One say’s, “I am your heart, listen to me”,
The other says, “No, I am your brain, listen to me”.
Somewhere in the gulf between,
My mind, always present, never seen,
Can’t decide what to do,
Can’t choose between the two,
One says “Leave”, the other says “Love”
One taking the part of hawk, the other of dove,
And great pain does this on my being inflict,
Knowing whatever, I could be the future casualty of this conflict,
Walking the blurred line drawn in the shifting sand,
I am indeed……..A stranger in a strange land!

SHADOW

I, am the dying residue of the day,
Yet, the living precursor of dawning, they say,
Not limited by time, nor speed of light,
Twilight my friend!….The day takes flight!
Hah! Both night and day, traitors to my cause,
Yet, the Sun and Moon, welcome oasis’s of course,
Embrace me,
Come, see,
Yourself you will know,
For I…..Am Shadow!

The Meaning of Dawn

I love to see the dawn again
Another day begin
Another chance to play life's games
Another chance to win
Another chance to make amends
For things I've said and done
My yesterday's beginnings
May not be left undone
Perhaps I'll plant another seed
Whose growth I'll never see
Then someone else will come along
To nurture it for me
For dawn you see
Like life itself
Is only a beginning
It's what we do with after dawn
That makes it worth the winning

And lunacy reigns supreme...

At first only a hint of it is perceived,
Someone bumping into us in the street,
An innocuous word here,
A ‘wrong’ look there,
A text message is not returned fast enough[translate that to ‘instantly’...]
And the fish is baited,
You’re cruelly hooked...

Next, it progresses,
Someone actually dares to disagree with your highness,
or shows you the finger on the road,
or, horror of horrors says something nasty to your face about you,
Grrr, like a simmering volcano,
It bubbles just beneath the surface,
Beckoning you on,
If ingested, its tantalizing essence clouds the vision,
And blurs the logic...

Like a narcotic, its addictive power grows on you,
It surely but inexorably entwines itself around your very being till only a semblance of your former balanced self is left,
It has grave physiological repercussions as well,
It can affect your liver, it can result in menstrual pain, headaches, redness of the face and eyes, dizziness, dry mouth, etc., etc.,

It drives loved ones away,
It drives material blessings away,
Its a barrier to all good things,
And a harbinger of all bad things...

What is it?
Of course you have all guessed by now,
Its the destructive elixir called wrath, anger, rage, fury...
Bring it on anyone...???
And lunacy reigns supreme...

~do you believe ~

In yourself in your life day to day
In your friends, in your thoughts
in your choices that you make
In your days that go wrong knowing it will be ok.

In the giving of you
no agenda in mind
do you believe in yourself
with forgiven past left behind.

Lighten your load
heavy back's tough to hold
chin up easy mind
monkey's gone ghost's grow old~

Complete Beauty

Her outer beauty conceals an inner truth
She hides a golden heart she's had since a youth
While often such a pretty woman would be vain
This lovely faired haired woman is far from inane
She has empathy and forgiveness within her sorrowful heart
And also has a creative brain that humbly displays her unique art

Like a tender flower with beautiful supple petals
The flower's stem often bellies its extra strong mettle
On further inspection it gives a fragrant pleasing scent
It brings pleasure and inspiration that increases as its intent
It still brings joy dispite the fact its picked and slowly wanes
The flower warms the heart and its exceptional art is self explained

This woman is awesomely attractive as can be
Yet she has no aires about her as all can plainly see
She has character, tact, kindness, compassion and soul
Despite her equisite beauty she still retains a magic goal
To help less fortunate, give words of encouragement and more
She thinks of others, has grace, sympathy, honesty and faithful repore

Thus God created this lovely woman on his spiritual earth
As a complete beauty both outwardly and inwardly has worth
As I see it she is the complete package when viewed over time
Many may not notice it but my heart has observed her inner chime
Without fanfare or special awards that she would naturally decline
I'd just like to explain that I think she's a complete beauty as I define

Eternal

For day after day, I've ploughed this field,
Albeit for nothing, a barren yield,
Covered forever by a black cloud,
Where green shoots of hope are not allowed,
In this field that no-one wants to know,
Where even weeds refuse to grow.
But, though I pull the plough by hand,
Up and down this barren land,
Raw blisters give pain,
For no obvious gain,
I believe.....I believe,
That's why, this land I'll never leave,
For, it's my reason to exist,
Me......The eternal optimist.
