Poet's Pen

Some men dig for gold
deep within the earth
Others explore the heavens
searching for their worth
But the poet will find all
these things with a single
stroke of the pen
When they find that gold in
a heavenly heart that glitters
deep within~

dreamers dream

dreamers
always dream
lovers
always love

in a world
often cold
people want
to keep warm

dreamers awake
percieving more
alert to something
not seen before

not caught up in
the daily grind
wandering souls
with restless minds

each soul
searching
for something
only known
to them

dreamers dream
lovers love
all our journeys
takes us so

Not Easy

It is not easy to be without you
but I know this is what I have to do

yet sometimes I'm lonely and think
is it worth it?

finding myself is hard, very hard
I was lost for too long

now I am walking the path alone
someday perhaps the path leads back

I miss your guidance
your humor and quirks

Just so you know
I am a beautiful lady

mind and soul
worth waiting for

The Path

So many,
So many.....
Countless the number through the ages, who have this worn path trod.
It discriminates not, it holds no distinction between man or woman, or those that have and those that have not.
All start out, end never in sight, with spring in step no matter their condition or age,
All striving in their own way for tomorrow, always tomorrow, that just out of reach thing, the next unseen page.
Across deserts, up hill, always just over the next peak, fording treacherous rivers, wading through slippery streams, searching tirelessly for the means, the way to find themselves, write their own destinies, live their own dreams.
The way has no set route, no beginning, no end. Some fall by the wayside,
Needing to rest, to sleep, some, forever in that spot, having found their home, will reside.
While others, rise to take their place or miraculously re-awaken,
So many......
So many,
Countless the number through the ages, who chose to tread this path…….
The one..... Less taken.

Poetry Group Project?

Would like to see who is interested in doing a pairs/other interpretation/imitation poetry. :D

Of course, certainly certainly post your own works, but who might get on board with some constraint ideas?

Maybe pair of, and write a poem in what you consider your 'partner's' style?

Would like to do some partnered/community concepts.

Any idea? Leave a comment! :D

Despair

Hope is my belief,
a bridge into unknown,
world of light?

Yet the path
is pain and joy.

God, don't leave me behind, your world is mine,
our universe:
Home!

Tightly Strung

A natural at this music business, I follow
note-clarity programmed into me by
years of aging wood and strings stretched
to the correct level of tautness
to avoid the breaking point.

If not so soundly set in its ways
my keyboard might venture
to dance wildly to a tune or two
and harmonize with the instruments
that serenade the world that surrounds.

With a hairline cleft in my soundboard
that might crack to the touch, if not gentle,
I fear a cacophony of sound that could
erupt when gravity sets me into motion
as fingers press down, strike my sharps.

Yet, my heart races allegro with each
key compression, as notes, my notes
blend magically one with the other.
Stringing its sweet melody that
does not, with harshness, sting
but rather brings true joy

making music out of life
making life out of music.

Ode To a Rosebud

Sweet rosebud, oh so pink and pretty,
You hold yourself so tightly closed
Until the time is right for op'ning,
Then petals spread, so all exposed.

You open when the time arises,
When warm and gentle breezes blow.
When the world is is right and synchronized,
In Mother Nature's gentle flow.

Or at times when need to fertilize,
Becomes the overpow'ring thing.
When your opening becomes a joy,
Tis then you cause my heart to sing.

Oh dear rosebud you have won my love,
I dedicate this ode to you.
We all know what makes the rose grow best,
The sparkling drop of morning's dew.

Bricks in the Wall

On each others shoulders we stand tall,
Ready to catch one another, should one fall,
Ideas are our mortar, they bind us together,
Help us stand through fair and foul weather,
Known or as yet unknown,
Each of us is a potential keystone,
And so, all in all, we’re all….
Bricks in our wall!

Blackbirds in the corn

A blackbird taps out
A morning reveille on
My window beckoning
Me to watch the
Conquest
Once he had me
At attention
He darts off to join
The ranks of a
Thousand black dots
Lining the wires in
Military formation
A command.. then
The hum of wings
Fill the sky
An army of aerial
Warriors decend upon
A field ripe for
Harvest
The spoils of victory
Were many and I
Saluted the valiant
Effort
A solitary solidier
Swooped down to
My window and
Proudly displayed his
Golden nugget
He had captured
Kernel Corn!
