the table

slender are the legs
that carried the joyous squeal
of two lovely girls
lost in their appeal
in a world of drawing and play
amongst the glitter and the gloss
laughter filled the air
fun at no cost
a table strong but sleek
prepared by the hand
a father's love ensured
nothing would demand
nor scar or even stain
what pleasure was derived
a table for two
through a fathers eye...........

Memorial day

The guns
The guts
The fire
The stench
The blood
The exhaustion
The view of Hells
landscape
The terror
The horror
The victories
The losses
The band of brothers
The resolve
The courage carved in
nobility
The heat
The cold
The faith
The questions
The broken hearts
The wounded
The dead
The images
The memories
The metals
The honor
The few
The proud
The brave
The heroes
The graves
The monuments
The eagles who dare
The soldier..
Memorial Day!

A Great Day

I got up this morning at 7 am
Slept for eight whole hours straight
Made whoopee with my girlfriend
We had breakfast at Hardee's
Three pieces of sausage, biscuits and gravy, and Mello Yello
We golfed at the Meadows and I shot 18 under par
With a hole in one on #14
We ate at Burger King for lunch
Had a Jr. Whopper with cheese, fries, and Mello Yello
Went to Madison to go minigolfing
Saw a good movie and had a pizza and salad and Mello Yello
Drove home singing to 80's songs
Went to the gas station to check my Powerball ticket
I won the jackpot of 200 million
Made whoopee with my girlfriend
Went to sleep
The end of a great day

self improvement

jail..ah what an experience
no freedom, full of restrictions

reality is, we do encounter
the many sides of life
our journey, our walks, our stance
is a reflection of who we are
what we believe in
and what we stand for

sometimes we walk the opposite
of what the majority follows
we test ourselves, we face the challenge
only to find out we are crushed and lynched
and in the end, ask the question?

was it all worth it?

I can't answer for you
perhaps, mine is only for myself
and here it is, I have learned a lot
more than enough, as a matter of fact

from the dark chambers of isolation
asked myself so many questions
what if, life is all but an illusion
and we aren't truly who we are, what we are,
nor our belief differ from everyone?

all I know is, from that experience
life is all about learning:
knowing what you did, so you know
where you are going...

I did learn a lot..

About this poem:
Note: I was in CS jail for a week and wheww what a trip..just because I defended someone who was being lynched.

Thank God, I have never been in any of the real jails where your life depends on the mercy of the law.

Thanks all for your reads and comments (if any).

Burnt Out Old Lover

A burn't out old lover I
Though I've still a spark of chemistry.
I'm still able but lack the will
Disillusioned and lonely still.

At least my poetry isn't fake
Although I may be an old rake.
Many women I have known
Through a heart that I've not shown.

For every girl, at night to dream of her
Although I may be an old deceiver.
I'll chart each love - define each girl
Describe each freckle, and hair that curls.

Thus I'll be going for quite a while
The variety of my lover's wiles.
Each time and place and circumstance
Ev'ry occasion of love's sweet dance.

If I write enough then just maybe
One day they will have to pay me.
Meanwhile, here I'll write for you -
CS poets, and for others too.

I hold dogs and horses in high esteem
(And as they say, it's free to dream).
A lover who respects a woman -
Nowadays not all that common.

A lot of my life has been sad
And like most poets, I'm half mad.
Harmless though, and still quite sexy
I think most women are lovely ladies.

Lately, now I have stopped drinking
(This must be good for love I'm thinking).
And I must write - something to do
To entertain both me and you.

I have a depth inside my soul
That few can touch and none can hold.
Although it is a long shot maybe
I may just change for the right lady.

And I will be meticulous -
(Luckily I've kept a list).
Hopefully, I will find bliss
Now that I am off the piss.

It is so hard to stay sober -
Every day's a battle over.
I stay alive to write for you
This (my muse) is my lover too.

So there you have it -- my sixty'th poem
You can't say that I haven't known 'em.
I must sign out now - lovecanbereal -
In poetry, I'm the "real deal".

New Beginnings

When it comes at a rush
a feeling, none can crush
Dull echoes, that last
Of all good times, past

Lift spirits, towards a sky
Memories-sadness, flying high
Emotions, powerful to remember
Love gifts, returned to sender

Elated, words cannot explain
From unknown, filled with pain
Hesitation, before moving on
Inner joy, cannot be wrong

Gradually, as confident hope
Replaces stress, aim to cope
Sunshine, lights the way ahead
Dreams no longer, tinged with dread.

Every day, a new beginning
Ours to grasp, hope winging
Dare to dream, an end in sight
Hope our right, a future bright

our moments

flipping through the pages of times
filled in between our books
those unfaded moments
haunting me deep down

it is not by accident
that they break loose once in a while
breaking my heart over and over again
relentless and strong

But even then
smiles overcome my imaginings
thinking what would've been
if we held on to each other a little longer

but what is done is done
nothing can change the course
that marked our moments
cherised and tucked
here forever in my heart...

never to be forgotten.

DESTINY

WHEN IT CALLS;BE READY, OR TAKE A FALL!WE ALL HAVE OUR LIVES, MAPPED OUT FOR US AT BIRTH!NO NEED TO FUSS, OR WORRY;FOR AT SOME TIME, WE SHALL ACHIEVE, WHAT WE ARE WORTH!LIFE CAN BE HARSH AND UNBEARING; ENTER , THE PATIENT, AND THE CARING!DESTINY IS ACHIEVED, BY FIRST HAVING A DREAM;THEN NURTURING IT THROUGH THE UPS AND DOWNS, AND FINALLY, THE VERY EXTREME!WE ARE TRUELY, ALL ONE, IN THIS GREAT UNIVERSE! WE STAND TOGETHER; AS CHILDREN, OF THE SUN!

THE MULCH MAN

IT"S SO HOT OUTSIDE; BUT IN SPITE OF THAT; I MAKE MY WAY, TO THE BOULEVARD; TO FEED, ONE STRAY CAT! I SEND MY THANX, TO THE MOST HIGH;FOR I SEE BEAUTIFUL TREES LINED UP; ALMOST COVERING THE SKY!DOWN THE STREET, I SEE A MAN; DRAGGING A HUGE BAG! HE"S STOPPING AT EACH TREE! I MUST GET A BETTER LOOK;AND HOPE THAT , HE DOESN"T SEE ME! HE"S SPREADING MULCH; AND TO THAT, I SEE NO WRONG;FOR IT MAKES THE TREES, GROW, BIG AND STRONG!I HAD TO ASK HIM;SIR; WHATS MAKES YOU DO THIS? CERTAINLY NOT FOR THE LOW PAY? HE ANSWERED;WHAT I CAN DO, FOR THE DOWN, AND OUT;AND EVERYDAY PEOPLE FIND SOME SHADE;AND HOPE THAT ONE DAY; THE HEAVENS WILL TELL ME; I HAVE IT MADE! I"M MAKING, THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE; IT MEANS MORE; THAN MONEY AND FAME! I HAVE A PURPOSE IN LIFE; AND THAT TO ME IS; THE NAME OF THE GAME!

A Smile Brought To Mind

My heart is a small cottage
Nestled among the trees
It’s stone hearth lit by a fire
As warm as you please

May my love be enough
Keep you safe and warm
In a world sometimes rough
As a raging winter storm

Come inside and feel safe
A ship sheltered in the bay
Never lost nor misplaced
Nestled we in bales of hay

For on those long cold nights
When the moon wears a smile
Clouds and smoke and lights
We watch all the curls spiral

When that old north wind
Is all it wants to send
Be a chill right down your spine
A maker meet ‘is end

Only hearing what I’ve said
Be making ideas over time
Listen to only what is read
Singing like a wind chime

For our past is great as glory
Leaving nothing left behind
Let our children tell our story
With a smile brought to mind

A little poem about remembrance for all we are and say….I am often inspired by simple country life here in the New England countryside and sharing a little of that sentiment here.
