Stairs

I'm darkness,
I'm crying with sunrise
Every day.
My tears
Fill your hopeless dreams
With blind faith.

I would be happiness
But I'm dying in your heart
Every day.
My death
Fills your fast life
With purpose.

I would be stairs,
As high as you could fall down
Every day.
My height
Forces you to get up,
To get your way.

I'm your mind,
And being so poor I teach you
Every day.
My spirit
Fills your thoughts
With sense to be human

When..........

Underground lair,
Noisy, acrid, smoke laden air,
Drunken barflies hovering,
Waitresses bothering,
Then she walks on,
Positions a stool to sit upon,
Puts a half burned cigarette, up the neck end through the strings,
While some much worse for wear, stare from the wings,
Then, a blanket of silence over the whole place she lays,
As the first chord she plays.
Legs crossed...My feet on the table, hat tilted over my eyes just so,
Telling folk I don't want company....They know,
Sipping the perfect iced gin,
It's always like this, when Cassy plays the mandolin.

CS Poets..

You are my poetry my
CS friends..
My words mean nothing
if to you I do not send..
My thoughts would fly to
the wind had you not snatched
them in your hand..
You are my receiving hearts

The Poets Voice

There are many sounds
that resonate
throughout the
world..

Such as the rustling
of leaves on a
cool autumn
morning

A crashing surf
at which we gaze
in sleepy awe..

The sound of the
newborn as it
grasps for its
mothers breast

There's the roar
of the crowd in
its exuberation
for a winning
team

The cry of joy
and of loss

And there's the
sound of War..
that alien frequency
disrupting the
natural temper
of our minds

Yet, another sound
emerges from the
ashes of human
destruction-

A voice..that
whispers a sweeter
refrain than the
monotonous repetition
of shells vanquishing
an enemy

That voice..an eloquent
echo of a forgotton
soul..

Has no sound that
the warrior in
his arrogance
would heed

It is not a voice
that bellows with
mindless and
futile rants
reveling in its
conquests

It is the clarion
call of the human
heart..though
supressed for a
season

Speaks truth in
the spring
of hope

The poets voice
sounding like a
lamb

Flinches not in
the face of
the lion

And though time
witnesses a
thousand generations

The poet stands as
an oracle in the
haze..between what
is, and what shall
be

The poets voice..
Ready at the
watchtower

Sounding the bell

A bell..
Which only the
inheritors of
the earth can
hear.

A Natural Healer.....

Watching the rolling ocean, rushing to meet
Shoreline so rocky, sandy smooth or sleek
Whatever time of day, one can always see
Meeting-greeting, as shore welcomes sea

Whether cove or long bay, nature will perform
In constant motion, from twilight to the dawn
Assisted by a breeze, even on a still day
Ocean may roar, as it rolls and runs away

Wiping away anything, left on the shore
Making it fresh, like nothings been before
Just like the night sky, strangers watch
Motion familiar, do thoughts ever match

Know our feelings, as we experience beauty
Watching in silence, becomes a special duty
If all people, could enjoy such simple things
Would our world be a happier place, minus some sin....

THE BIG BANG

Scientists say the Universe started with a bang
With a force that caused matter to expand
It came out of nowhere is what they say
Formed our planet Earth & Universe as it is today

Really this energy and matter came from nowhere?
Just popped out of the blue they swear?
I have my own theory if anyone really cares
To blow theirs completely (pardon the pun) out of the air

The Universe is full of light with the suns and stars
Their energy gives off light for miles afar
Where did this source of energy and light come from
You know I will say from our Father above

It’s true – God is Good - God is Love – GOD IS LIGHT
No stars are needed in Heaven - that’s right
God is the Sun and the Son is the Lantern
God made the Universe and all its pattern

The source of the energy and light are from Him
He is the Universe and made all within
Our minds cannot understand how big and powerful He is
Even the highest IQ cannot comprehend a grain of this

People will ridicule my poem I’m sure
But does anyone else really know for sure
Think on it and see if you can do a better riddle
For I know the answer to it without a quibble

Still You....

Embedded image from another site

This is my world,
Centered in Your universe.
Can I go outside and play,
Asked the child whose eyes were so amazed.
Is grown up and about to break,
For this I am losing faith
Why should I open up my heart just to find a new kind of pain?
Right before I burst,
It grows from bad to worse.
All of these faces I hide behind,
Are to light the darker ones I have kept inside.
But You...
You asked me what am I running from and where I'm running to,
After all these tears is forgiveness something I deserve from You
and what I've put You through.
How could someone so easily love me as the sun lights a darkened moon
Because when I least expected it
....there was Still You

A Positive Message !

Don't speak to me of your half empty glass,
As you wallow in a pity display,
Mine is half full, and bold as brass,
I savour it's mature bouquet.

If you confer with me don't mention your woes,
Or the sorrow of your pain and distress,
For I emerged from the school of hard blows,
So from negative vibes I digress.

If you think from this, that I don't care,
Then you have judged me wrong,
Only positive energy with you I'll share,
To help your mind grow strong.

Negative thoughts like Cancer will spread,
And poison a healthy mind,
Contaminating slowly inside you're head,
Seeking the positives to grind.

If you enjoy sad tales to compile,
I'll reluctantly spin you mine,
You may wonder then why I carry a smile,
And intensely dislike to whine.

Let the positives in !...and free your ghost,
Exude your strength and class,
Then as you leave, I'll extend you a toast,
With a half full parting glass !

Rising From The Ashes

The wear and tear of my past experience
has ravaged my spirit, body and soul
Now my life is a mere shallow existence
with a deep longing to be made whole

I was caught in the beauty of your charm
and savouring its full pleasure was my goal
Now I experience a deep sense of alarm
at the loss of my feeling of control

But with my own inner resolve and firmness
and the strength I can get from other avenues
I must overcome this sense of helplessness
and move on to live my life as I choose

The phoenix bird burns itself to ashes
whenever it becomes worn out with age
And from those ashes a new phoenix arises
and starts a fresh life cycle on a new page

Scorched and burned by my actions of the past
and having learned from the anguish and pain
I also will rise from those ashes at last
and move on afresh with my own life again
