Purple Pendragon

for fells I promised you a poem

you may think me
a fiery dragon of yore
some called me royal
others say I was a knight

Be this as it may
If the truth is told
of where it all began
it was when druids
claimed me their own

and thus I was born
from mists of myths
I am purple pendragon
also known as King Arthur

WHAT'S THIS LIFE FOR

"What's This Life For" we've contemplated evermore
longing to know eats feverishly at our inner core
All interpretations fall far short of sound
maybe in death reason for being is found

An Almighty proclaimed to have given life to humanity
a supposed "Gift" he knew was bound to be a calamity
Reality proves life is many things but a gift it is not
It's consistent heartache culminating six feet under to rot

It's sinister to give a "Gift" filled with constant sorrow
and assure joy is something we can occasionally borrow
He commanded we abide by rules knowing it wasn't feasible
some were obvious but expecting compliance to all unreasonable

What was the point of human existence beyond Adam and Eve
one sin warranted his decision 'humanity must forever grieve'
Putting all faith in a book of fairy tales is arduous at best
and never questioning what you can't see...surely you jest

Why create a life you predetermined to be an agonizing chore
all I've said raises the unanswerable "What's This Life For"

I'll see you Again

i'll see you again,

a moment of chance,
i spied you at a glance,
through passing rows
and sunbeam glows

a heartbeat a miss.
at a thought of a kiss
a breath not taken
and a love not faking

this minute becomes a second
the heart starts to beckon
a twist and a turn
our hearts start to burn

we are strangers on a street
not destined to meet
passing each other by
catching glimpses of an eye

ill see you again
my heart counts till then

THE HARDEST THING I EVER HAD TO DO (WAS MAKE MYSELF LEAVE YOU)

Hey, why are you knocking at my door
what could you possibly want me for
Pain is resurfacing seeing you here
but you knew that when deciding to appear

Don't dare stand there claiming to have cared
mutual love and respect was never shared
I constantly gave of myself while in turn you just took
you maliciously hurt me by showcasing a provocative look

I was just a game you figured would be easy to play
I'm certain you felt superior treating me that way
Passion turned into something I had to beg for
when we had sex you made it seem like a chore

From you deception wasn't the only consistent thing I got
you also made sure my emotions stayed tied in a knot
Pain you induced daily I couldn't let show on the outside
tears I cried because of you fell plenty on the inside

Why you decided to do me the way you did is truly sad
you'll regret losing the best you could ever have had
I graduated from the road of getting over you my dear
you get to witness me shed for you this one last tear

When together you chose to act as if you were free
so take all your vile mendaciousness and flee

THE LORD KNOWS WHY

You took her without any warning my Lord
Mami was the one I most adored
I think of her daily pondering where she might be
I pray with you above the stars smiling down at me

You took her before letting me say goodbye
now that she's gone I'm struggling to get by
I am unable to stop the incessant crying
everyday I feel a little more of me is dying

Their are many times I just want to scream...
please lord let this be some bad dream
M peace of mind is rapidly falling apart
I can't find a way to mend my shattered heart

True happiness is seemingly lost forever
emptiness inside you can't measure
In dreams Mami is always dressed in white
her arms around my neck squeezing tight

A faint whisper echoes as she slowly fades away
stop crying my angel, we'll be together again someday
When I wake there's a lingering tear in one eye
"The Lord Knows Why"

Garden of Life

Life is like a garden of seasonal change
Spring first ushered in by gentle rain
The crocuses, daffodils and tulips abound
While the birds are singing all around

Spring fades to summer slowly
As all the trees regain their green foliage
Hot steamy days and warm muggy nights
Makes for the garden to grow in great strides

With cooler nights and a touch of frost
Fall brings harvest and a bumper of crops
Pumpkins become Jack-O-Lantern faces
And corn fields are turned into unusual mazes

During winter the garden is asleep
Waiting for the first gentle rain it seeks
Snow lies like a blanket keeping the plants warm
Until the return of spring when they will become reborn

When life fades it must be like a new spring
Waking in Heaven where all the Angels sing
Happily tending to God’s garden above
Surrounded by all of those that you love

TRUE LOVE

Embedded image from another site
What and where is true love
It comes from God above
No one can exist or live apart
From Him as He is in our heart

Whether we want to admit it or not
Even though we think we have forgot
He never leaves our heart alone
He never leaves as He is our home

If we find someone to share our love
He is right there with you as God Is Love
A union without God and love cannot survive
For without Him love will wither and die

True love is a beautiful thing
Two become one through the exchange of a ring
The symbol of eternal love of two
Joined and with God all their life through

U AND I

Bliss we're now experiencing unique
maybe love reaching highest peak
Passion incapable of fizzling out
mutual respect most can't tout

Desire for other transcends mundane
own relation that won't wane
Both lucky ones I declare
"Til Death" allegiance we share

Destiny led US to here
U and I "One" dear

WHAT COULD'VE BEEN

Debbie for you I will forever have love
you my sweet I shall forever think of
Forced to suppress feelings elevated desire for you
impeding circumstance always reason I had too

We were supposed to be ONE together
passion we shared I couldn't find in another
I believed we'd inevitably share my last name
that never coming to fruition both are to blame

Our relation contained magic and it's demise so sad
It hurt deep settling for less than what we should've had
Your sudden diagnosis a devastating slap in the face
I hope you're where you believed is a heavenly place

I didn't just lose my love I lost my best friend
'What could've been' I will ponder til my end

Blossoms and Bubbles-----A Couplet

Blossoms And Bubbles

As I entered the garden the scents enticed
rampant rose blossom the arches fenced.

Cascading aromatic blossoms greeting me
amidst the climbers were the sweet pea.

In the centre stood the patio so glamorous
sparkling bubbles of champagne so amorous.

Tickling the throat buds saturated with scent
from the tumbling blossoms as they descent.

Blood stream and breath full of roiling bubbles
and past swish the gentry parading in couples.

Raise your glasses in a toast as friends are wed
laughing, knowing they will all too soon be in bed.

Ah what a perfect day in this romantic garden
bubbles and blossoms tumbling as skies darken

Blossoms and bubbles never somniferous
mixed together they are becoming toxiferous.
