THIRD PARTY.

The choice is ours, to meet or not
No accidental meeting, but one with a plot
Add new dimension, stir and shake
Outcome not hopeful, for swift clean break

Looming like storm clouds, story unfolds
Circumstances not good, neither acting bold
Sabotage action, from the time of plan
Set in motion, by third party who can

To step into unknown, as a blind date
Will meeting be successful, or both hate
Lingering sour taste, both won't forget
Never to meet again, new directions set

Ulterior motive, confirm or deny
Retreat a weakness, attitude can't buy
Social skills-good manners, genuine care
Third party determined, never to share

When child wants Mum and Dad together
Nothing will change mind-set, hopes tether
Dreams of what was, to return once more
Family under one roof, anticipations soar.

"Captivated by a smile"

Have you ever been captivated by a smile?
Like mesmerized, deer caught in head lights.
Breath taking, heart racing, beating a minute a mile.
I couldnt believe such beauty was in my sights.
You left me in awe, the moment I saw your picture roslov434.

Life

Feeling free,
No need to flee,
Life's good,
Not being misunderstood,
Seeing only good.
Life, no Longer passing me by.
seeing life, through clear eyes
No, need to cry
So lucky to feel alive,
What a great vibe.
walk with my head held high
Feeling like I’m touching the sky.
Enjoying, my new life.
birds and butterflies
roses and dandelions.
Life's like a slice of cherry pie
Leaving me feeling high.

Another Debate

Twenty candidates for president are running for the Democratic party
Verses Trump
Which one will get the nomination?
We have all these topics
The big one this year is the border with Mexico
What should be done with these people coming from these poor countries
Their main message is to take care of them
So the rule is if you have kids you get to break the law
You are allowed to steal jobs from Americans and resources
This is fair for those who see their taxes go up and up and up
While their wages haven't doubled in over 40 years
While the CEOs doulble their wages every 12 years
So it is political suicide to suggest that we shouldn't reward lawbreakers?
I guess it seems that this stuff just gets recycled every four years
It's like the fat man who used to weigh 200 pounds and now is pushing 400
I promise if you elect me as president I will eat fruit and vegetables
Not my current diet of Mt Dew and McDonalds
But the moderator would ask, "Didn't you say that 40 years ago?"

SOMETIMES....RUN.

Life a tunnel, with echoes, darkness and light
Experience shadows, when things aren't right
With hope, we wait dark times to fade and bring
Good times, in sun and shade, allow echo to sing

Sometimes we want to hide, lick our wounds
Other times singing along, to favourite tunes
Whether straight, or curved, we forge to seek
What life has waiting, so we can take a peek

Keep ourselves dry, during storms we encounter
In wind or worse, we struggle so not to flounder
We must remember, attitude can see us through
Think each step carefully, we wisely aim to do

When life gets bumpy, accept experience you learn
Never rush ahead upset, or bridges you may burn
Maturity brings dilemmas, easier to cope when not young
Life's learning curve, if feeling trapped...self-preservation shouts......
RUN.

The lionheart.........

It was just a annual dinner
For the fundraisers and there lot
The seating was prearranged
A mixture of who and what
I had an old fella next to me
Who didn’t mind a drink
And the questions that he asked
Made me stop and think
He was just shy of eighty
With a chuckle you’d admire
And he queried me on everything
As I searched for his desire
But my ears tweaked with intent
As he spoke of his friend
A woman of ninety three
He’d support till the end
They’d been friends for years
And she was nursing home bound
But he visited her everyday
To take her all around
Everyday and in every way
He’d make her life a joy
Never a doubt in his words
No time left to be coy.........

You

Always there in times of despair,
words so pure
Knowing, my fears
Always, there
showing, you care
Never, letting me down
Not so, much as a frown
The tenderness, in your heart
It's a beautiful, work of art
I never thought it possible,
not to be judged
To be, unconditionally loved
You, make me laugh
You, make me cry
Never, telling a lie
Such is a rare find
I'm, proud to say
You are, my best friend
To the very end of time.

I see you ..........

She was just a lass
Of maybe fourteen or more
But there was something intriguing
I could not ignore
Twas the shape of her eyes
And the way her brow lay
What nationality was she
How could I say
Her skin was fair and fine
Her hair black as night
Freckles on her face
Threw me off to the right
Just then a lady sat down
And reduced my frown
A dead ringer for the girl
But two generations down
Small and petite
And not the same shape
But eyes said it all
They could not escape
Definetly Asian
For that I am sure
Beautiful eyes
And that Worldly door...........

Convict Chains

Our Nation young;-

Though still bound,
By convict chains;-

To feel that
Flogging blood;-

That goes down,
Through generations;-

And through
The years;-

Crime is in the blood,
They say;-
Bad genes.

Down through generations.

The bitter spite,
Against authority.

The gambler's curse,

And no one
Wants to go to jail.

We will fight you,
In Sydney.

All those Larrikins
And Hard Men

Nights spent drinking,
And brawling, in the Rocks

Now soft sounds returned;-
As the waves smack,
Against the Quay;-

Long ago;-
All those guts and gore.

And the flailing of the Cat*
On this newfound shore.

To see Police,
And still, hackles come up;-

Like a dog before a fight,
In bridled frenzy.

And Foveaux**,
On Norfolk Island was;-

The salty air;
And the salty taste of blood.
