Just Words

Forget what you have heard
On subject, predicate,
That these are merely words,
No detriment, nor benefit.

Not “sticks and stones “ these words,
Are so much more than just,
Nouns, adjectives and verbs,
Said in earnest or in jest.

They make a statement cogent,
Words have value and weight,
And in pressing moments,
Are a prison or escape.

We cry and we laugh,
At life and paragraphs,
In books that we have read,
And what has oft been said.

For worse or for better,
We submit to the letter,
Whether in law or in scripture,
Of events the predictor.

And we must be stricter,
Make words an elixir,
As if bought from a vendor,
We must always remember,

Silver-tongued men days past,
Set other mens hearts ablaze,
T’wards the good or evil task,
T’wards comfort or malaise.

So before you speak and,
Before pen and paper,
And before you click send,
Be certain don’t waver.

Let wisdom first abound,
But hold all men to account,
Let every phrase inspire,
Lift lowly heads up higher.

Here there is more power,
With every syllable,
For test and proving hour,
And days most difficult.

About this poem:
Truth matters. Words matter. We cannot settle for the toxic discourse of the day. One reality, one truth and respect for others even those who disagree.

DIVERSITY #CVII

Animosity permeating society stems from excessive 'Diversity'
reality every 'denier' is bound to call complete absurdity
Answers rarely come from talks between each side
Parties firm stand on own Ideology negates resolving divide

Drastically altering America's landscape curtails lasting peace
'whites' forced into Minority Status assures divisions increase
Humans grapple with why there's a propensity to be 'racist'
I'd surmise 'Human Nature' is the lone reason racism exist

Self-serving corrupt Politics has reached an all-time high
justice coming from Washington D.C. long ago ran dry
This insufferable world induces the best to "Fall from Grace"
'Life's a Gift' a totally fallacious dupe on the human race

The 'Left' believes perpetual 'handouts' makes them morally legit
the 'Right' knows hard work is essential for what you get
Dems pretend to care about 'women and minorities' for a vote
weight of perpetual 'lies and hypocrisy' they're unashamed to tote

Sustaining peace with so many differing beliefs foolish thinking
vast diversity indubitably conducive to the United States sinking

Blessed Truth!

This i have sought, always from my young. Gathering my thoughts, for what's called truth. Thus clarity my hope, truth is my desire. To widen my scope, sincere-ly i aspire. Inside is but empty, outside me things unfold. Opinions abound plenty; is truth been told? I travel this journey, wrestling with despair. Damn lies told to me, only truth will repair. The days of my twilight, will soon appear. Truth will shred light, helping me get there. Over the great beyond, where saints come ashore. Those truth have won,(over), shall enter her door!

My euology!

I used to be a writer; a little poetry by hand. A poet without the glitter; no audiance did i command. My messages were solely mine; a cummulation of my thoughts. Here and there little lines, and whatever comfort it brought. I was not the shakespear; i am who i am. These my writings, i shared, hoping if "one" would understand. Then my time was past; i wrote poems no more. Not even good poets last, muchless me, this simple bore. Yet you can make me great, reading my work through and through. Do so for this poet's sake; one who is infamous as you. Become a well known critic-: debate my work and its value. With comments from good to derelict; such helps my work shine-through. I am not the immortal; my body dead and gone. Make my work-:a living portal and byfaith a legend lives:- on!

The forbidden fruit!

What is this fruit? Does it have a name? I will tell truth, though not seeking fame. We heard it's forbidden, nothing else we know. This truth was hidden, a long time ago. Much spoken about adam, we heard about eve. The suttleness of satan, and how he decieves. How their eyes opened, their bodies were exposed. What god had spoken, using fig-leaves for clothes. Not much else revealed, noting from that book. Makes you kinda feel, it's a story they cooked. But i am writing, it, being revealed to me. Surely wasn't apple biting, under some fruit tree. People have imagined fruits, every one in their land. While seeking the truth, about the garden Eden. There was so perfect, god's voice they heard. They lived as subjects, feeding off his word. Obeying of god's word, is heaven's first law. To break it was unheard, was death for sure. The "fruit" was disobedience, the breaking of god's command. This isn't rocket science, by god's word we stand. We belong to god, man isn't his own. satan tried our lord, with "bread from stone"! The first man adam, indeed he was conned. jesus by rebuking satan, showed how it's done. Get thee behind me, is all it took. Ooh! Lord i thank thee, for this "fruitless" look!

SUMMER NIGHT

The sun slowly drifted away and shadows crept in
The air slightly cooler as the darkness deepened
Creatures scurrying to their dens while still light
Others waking up to welcome the dark night

Edge of the world trimmed in pink, purple, orange, gold and red
Like apologizing for the colorless black night ahead
The moon and planets debuting in the sky
With constellations and stars of summertime

Scary ragged black shapes silhouetted against the sky
Reaching upward with crooked branches way up high
Black bats flitting around catching tiny buzzing wings
While a large ground chorus is warming up to sing

A mist on the pond like a low cloud from the sky
Adding a mystic air to the night-time cries
Floating like a ghostly mass across the earth
Providing cover for many night-time critters to lurk

Soon several mixed voices fill the night-time air
Soothing the soul like a bedtime prayer
Open windows inviting the night sounds in
Drifting to sleep by the Lullaby on the wind

The universe doth spin

Dreams of kings and courtiers
before the heavens
circular does the sun course
on its axis the universe doth spin

There's a moon in my window
I hear crows of vanity
from an early morning c*ck
should I sleep or rise?

Oh but I rest!
indifferent to your nature
O Universe,
'tis true
I pass the days
in trivialities
while you hold
magnificence
in your hand
and down through the ages
visionaries and sages
I see
sunrises for strangers
travel as you will
fair waifs and strays

Regeneration!

There’s a sadness in being, a sadness in seeing
Our creation decline,
Twas not your vision nor twas not mine,
But we will begin again as we have before,
And once again, hope for more.
