Age

Age has a no
Whats your no may I ask
Are you old are you young
You may ask

Will I tell
Or give you a no don't ask
What is age have you
Lived a life of stiff have you chilled with a life of ease you may ask will I tell you may have to find out
Is my skin smooth is my skin old
What's your age you may ask

Humble Pie

I've paid my dues
Worn out my shoes
Is life without much gain
I've suffered in silence
Avoided much violence
Peace came without pain
I’ve made my plans
Reached out my hands
Washed out in the rain
I’ve made my way
Always had my say
During my whole reign
I’m ready now
Prepared somehow
To start over again
I’ve conceded to
The cards I drew
Not all was lost in vain

Treasures Of The Mind

The brain is the body’s power source for the mind
While used on a regular basis daily for either good or evil
It is never challenged when children are born to the
World, at that point it is looked upon God’s gift to
The parents. As time advances we discover the child’s
Full potential as the mind tends to decide whether the
Child has developed all that can be learnt by education
From schooling and the arts, sometimes the child becomes
A genius or may take a darker path of criminal activity.
This is were the mind enters this scenario. The child must
Realise by using the treasures of his mind the world will be
A better place for all. Choosing a career in medicine may be
One option healing the sick, another might become a teacher
Educating the next generation of children, all of this the mind
Will assist with inspiration and intelligence.
Then we have to view life as another child would envision.
The world could represent a different and eerie view of horror
Turning his back on society, may become a dictator as we have
Witnessed in our past centuries, using the mind to seek war
For personal profits, hurting families and friends, who knows
What damage will prevail. The outcome rests with our future
Families whether they choose a peaceful existence or war
Which no one will profit from. The treasure of the mind is there
To be used for the benefit of mankind, it must never be used
For man’s downfall.

Elegy to an Irish Springtime.

Adieu dear Spring, cruel time is nigh,
Your fertile surge complete,
With sorrow we must wave goodbye,
And mourn your slow retreat.

You brought us blooms and verdant trees,
Sweet birdsong everywhere,
Abundant Nature to appease,
With scented woodland air.

Now rest your head, in mortal sleep,
You've earned your slumber well,
You leave this land in verdure deep,
As bluebells chime your knell.

My favoured season I decree,
This poet has lost his muse,
Whilst other jealous seasons three
Are sneering in the pews

The Summer sun won't glare your eyes,
Nor moonlight warm your tomb,
You won't hear lonely banshee cries,
Beneath a ghostly moon.

From deathly pallor so austere,
New life you did bequeath,
Glad fauna sheds a grateful tear,
Wild flora forms a wreath.

Your leafy pyre .. sad Faeries pass,
In solemn discontent,
As dew drops fill your parting glass,
The wind moans your lament.

On Nature's cogs each season turns,
As sure as full moons wane,
When Autumn falls to Winter spurns,
You'll come to life again.

If ever… (written in 2016, revised in 2022)

If ever you make it to Heaven one day,
Please stop and take a while
To look for my kin as you go on your way;
You’ll meet him with a smile.
Tell him how truly sorry I am
That no one was there by his side
But I know now that God may have planned it that way,
On the fateful morning he died.

If ever you make it to Heaven one day,
And find that you’re lonesome or bored,
Just look for my brother, he’ll show you the way;
‘Cause he’s right there with the Lord.
You’ll find that he’s happy and free from all care;
- There’ll be a grin on his face -
Everything’s better, there’s nothing to fear
Now that he’s gone from this place.

If ever I make it to Heaven at all,
What a great blessing that’ll be!
But greater still will be my joy,
When my loving brother I see.
He knows how to make me feel welcome and glad;
- He’s just a person like that –
So I’ll try my best to be good, though I’m sad,
Until it’s my turn to depart.

Can it be 2022

Can it be 2022
Sirens sound
People hide in hollows Deep
Destruction heard
Tanks roll by in captive cities
War declared stay doors
People hear bombs destruction seen people hide people flee
People dead
Can it be 2022
Will it lead to ww3

Have you heard...?

Have you heard…?
Tell me, have you heard what people say
To those whose loved ones pass away,
And the pain that won’t allay,
Persist for years and years?
Get over it!

Seriously, have you heard what some allege
About their vows when they did pledge
To love until a ripe old age,
Till Death erase their cares?
Don’t believe it!

Sadly, I have heard that love can die
With little warning it slips by…
In life, in death - I can’t tell why -
And leaves behind such tears.
I’ve seen it.

About this poem:
Love can die for different reasons. Two reasons are the physical loss of a loved one and the emotional loss of a 'once-loved' one. Both can be traumatic.

When time are tough in a relationship, try to remember the good things they always out weigh the bad

When times are rough and tears start to fall
when we're scared and feeling blue
remember the warmth you used to feel
with my arms wrapped around you
When things are said that shouldn't be
harsh words that just aren't true
remember the magic within the kiss
when I press my lips to you
When we argue, fuss and fight
and the blame is on us two
remember that love conquers all
the love between me and you.

Can you live without me

Can you live without me is a wonderful thing in life to wonder if someone is willing to wait for you and continue on waiting as well can you live without me I often ask myself this and wonder will she stay beside me or will she leave me can she go through the hard times in life with me and still remain steady and strong beside me will you leave me this is a question that we always ask ourselves but we never come up with the answer until the end sincerely stay beside me and I'll stay beside you

About this poem:
Is it merely a poem that I love writing I love riding poems are at least expressing palms I'm also a philosopher of life I believe in things that may be and may not be I look at things in straight eyes and not I don't wear Rose colored glasses I see things the way they are some people look at things in a positive way and some people look at things in a negative way this is what makes us all different and great ways if no one really understands negative and positive always attract their selves no matter what you cannot put a positive positive together they just won't work if you're a magnet but if you flip them over and try to put them together they will stick together so hard that it's very hard to pull them apart life is like a magnet you have to be attracted to each other to be able to make it work
