this might not be popular to say but I think Religion was mainly created to direct people in some ways to common sense, I think that pretty quickly it was picked up by many to control people and not always for the "good" of the world. As far as the poll,,,,how could it not be "manmade" even if some one was inspired it would still be the people that made it.
Organized Religion and religious texts are man made, obviously, everything we have created of dogmas, rituals, shrines etc have come from human thoughts. Intuition and claims of divine inspiration is natural due to the nature of it, but then again, we don't really know everything about everything yet.

Yes we dont know everything about universe or nature.Thats cos of we havent created it,we are just a part of this great creation.Only the Creator of Everything would know about everything. The only thing we can do is,just evolve and learn more and more. But even after billions years of evolution ,there is no way we know everything. But at least ,after some evolution,we will know that all religion are made by some men to control others and direct ancient people to common sence.

Sorry, but you're wrong about this, there was a difference between the creation of religion, and the misuse that emerged from it. It's not a very hard math, you can see it everywhere - ask a enthusiastic scientist about science and he will say its good. And we can clearly see the benefits science has given us, especially since much of it is tangible. But you can still see science and technology being used for control and to manipulate (no scientist will deny its possibility). It's not a religion issue, its a man issue, in my opinion after/still looking into it, religion in its epistemological sense breaks this control, does not create it.
do you have a similar opinion of cosmology or other sciences?i wonder if the study of religion preceded science,or vice versa.so many texts are still being uncovered and translated.
I don't find it particularly difficult to think that at the time before we stabilized our first camp fire, we communicated wonders with primitive sounds.

The philosopher has never killed any priests, whereas the priest has killed a great many philosophers. -- Denis Diderot, Observations on Drawing Up of Laws (1774), repr. in Lester G Crocker, ed, Selected Writings, ed. (1966), quoted from The Columbia Dictionary of Quotations
of course it is. it have a lot of functions that's why it works with so many people, it brings people together, it gives an inspiration for beautiful art, it gives a false feeling of security to believers that God will help them when they need it. Religion unfortunately also starts wars and make some people intolerant because they thing that just their religion is better and they want to impose it on others. It is like having fire in right hands, some people make good things of it, some should never touch it.

Philosophy, not philosophers, religion, not priests
The psychiatric wards are full of people who hear voices yet we build an entire philosophy on the second and third hand written accounts of people like these who are long dead and who did not share our views or our lives.
The famous Sun Tzu was a philosopher, I think he got credited with some kills in his time, religious people through time has been persecuted because some fellows meant they had a better philosophy...
All religions are created by man supported by a mythical construct (such as prophets) in which scriptures and people are canonized.
So it should be of no surprise that religious figures and adherents often present their religion as the assumptive truth of all religions, based on myths. The biggest victim of dogmatic and imperialist religion is the critical thinker...

religion is man made because man could not obey the word of God, so made there own laws to suit man. they where even killing christians back in roman times by feeding them to the lions. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
the arabic factions, started "religion". there are many misnomers in our current society. the main problem is we use words, as bandaids. english is the worst, for these literary infractions. with it's one word, means many things,or one thing means many words. the biggest misuse is the "love" word. you can "love" your cup of morning coffee,"love"your car,"love"your job, then in the same sentence, use the same word, to describe how you feel about your significant other. this seems a little cheap to me, this is, why i call these one size fits all words, a bandaid. there is a difference, between religion, and spirituality. after many years of esoteric studies, i have determined that spirituality, is ones' connection,to the cosmos',or creator(s),or what ever perception, each person has of a greater personage,or power(this is probably close to what you are trying to get an answer about in your poll)but this ideal,or perception is an indiviual connection, and therefore, has an different importance,or urgency in the eyes of the "believer",therefore this is the spiritual connection. religion is belief expressed in regular,or constant outward signs of devotion.i.e. one can garden religiously, golf religiously, fish religiously, or they can express their devotion, to a higher power or ideal religiously. religion is not your devotion, it is how you "do" your devotion. and as i previously stated the arabic factions are very expressive in thier devotions, however, aggressive,or invasive they might be. hillbilly pagan P.S. also a related subject, for future discussion is,"god, is not the creator".
