Guys don't have to take the first step...
I don't believe so... or I would not believe in equality..

I don't mind taking the first step...

but like everything in life.. when you approach a person, whether it is by mail or meeting... you need to be aware..

Firstly considering that you are entering into an invisible boundary... and respecting that there is a boundary
and secondly, recognising that some people are different, and maybe don't care to share too much of their lives..
so its all around not asking what may or not be delicate
and then of course,

its summing all the information that you have gathered and knowing how to proceed..

as for English... good on you for wanting to improve.

Traditionally men are expected to make the first move.....Personally, I think it is because men are able to accept being rejected better than women....and aren't apt to commit suicide when a woman says "get lost jerk".....Men just say....your loss lady....then say "next".....lol
