I have seen the topic raised before of whether a slightly older adult who has never been married is automatically discluded from some in preferences. I used to say I'd never get involved with the never married, however, I married too young and made a lot of mistakes. So I have kinda changed my mind and now see the never married older adult as someone who had perhaps greater self knowledge knowing that marriage was not for them. Or as one smart enough not to marry for all the wrong reasons :)

I totally agree with your age group determination, not necessarily with marriage being the ultimate objective but in respect of finding a compatible partner and having a meaningful relationship.

Once people hit 40, it's gonna be a 'Settle with what you can get or go without' scenario, if you ask me

unless of course we find what we want in someone our own age who also prefers the same. Not all older adults want a much younger partner. I cannot think of many circumstances where that would be acceptable to me, for example. I prefer someone within my age range. Youth is not attractive to everyone. I find the immaturity sometimes annoying, actually.

I agree that it is harder as we age. It is not harder because there is anything wrong with being older. However, it is harder because we get so much better at weeding out potentials who show characteristics that we may have overlooked when we were younger....for better or for worse.

I don;t think either my ex husband or myself would choose each other as a partner now where we overlooked our incompatibilities due to immaturity at the time.

Hi darkbrownskin! I know how's the problem goin because we are in the same place which taboo to married above 30 and people judge on our age. I found below 30 who got married only because the culture demands to get married quickly before 30 and embarrassed if not get married yet. But openminded people more agreed with us..don't worry.

I think (many) men/women are still hot/attractive at any age!
A lot of it is how one carries themselves and their confidence level!
I am almost 52, the mom of 4 adult daughters and the grand mother of 3, and to be honest, (and I am NOT bragging, simply making a point from my own experiences), I get "hit on" quite often by younger men, so obviously beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
There is no set age for ones je ne seque (sp) to "evaporate"!!

Oh dear, young man...I am almost 52 and I knocked that "wall" you speak of, down years ago, and am still going strong. Not sure where you got your numbers, but for many of us men & women, the attractiveness can always be present. After all, everyone has their own perception of "hotness"
