Yes. I signed in about 6 weeks ago only for the reason to be able to talk with someone whose thread came up on Google when I was looking for a certain thing or feature I have myself, but then I fell in love with the beautiful thread opener We met the first time in person about four weeks after I signed in and I will never forget that. We have seen each other now a few times and will meet very soon again

Good luck.It does happen, even meeting people, via "neurological phenomenon".-
A lot of people I know are still not sure about people meeting people online. My favorite comedian once said...how is picking up a pissed person in a bar better than talking to someone sober and online?

And another line ...how many have you seen in dating sites that say "I am willing to lie about how we met....??" What are they ashamed of? I would be more embarrassed about saying I picked her up on a drunken night out....
BigGuyLondon: I've been here for ages and still I've not actually met anyone face to face, (I have my reasons, obviously).
Have you met anyone yet who's also on here? If so, how long was it from the time you signed up to the time you had your first date together?
I'm not asking for advice or help etc, I'm just curious to the general way things have gone for people. :)
Yes, I've met quite a few people from the site over the years, and all lovely real people too. I've also talked to quite a number on Skype as well, and most were decent, although a few turned out to be rather nasty.
After nearly 9 years on here, I can tell you the vast majority are here to do nothing more than waste time, your's and their's. Many don't have any intention of ever meeting anyone, and they'll come up with any number of excuses as to why they can't/won't.
It's just the nature of the internet, it attracts all sorts, and many don't see this as real, just a virtual candy store. I think they've forgotten that there are real people behind those profiles, or maybe they never realised that, or perhaps some never really cared in the first place.
Just be forewarned, some will gossip about you, whether there's any truth to it or not. Just like a small town, they'll make it up if they have to, and come to a consensus, and spread it around. There are also those that will stab you in the back, when you thought they were your friend.
Yes I did meet someone here. Yes we feel in love. I still love him, but he pasted away a few years back. I would be lucky if and when I find that feeling again.

Be careful who you place your trust in.
The only trust i value,is the one meeting face to face.
