Like Jo says, it will be interesting to come back to this thread as the new year progresses to see if any of these happen. Your predictions could very well happen and as for the weather, I'm thinking weather patterns will continue be "odd" which may impact on the number of unusual storms, volcanoes and earthquakes.

No, there may be CLAIMS of cures for major diseases but the reality remains - it will continue to be most profitable to sell pharmaceutical snake oil that is prescribed long term to mask symptoms.
