Rather sad that nobody gives a crap about the pursuit anymore. Perhaps our new love pursuit is apathy and complacency followed by intellectualism. Of course having money certainly helps.
Pursuing someone makes only sense if both people are interested and want to be pursued.
Too many people are barking up the wrong tree - be realistic who you are hoping to attract. If you couldn't attract a 20 year old when you were 20, it suddenly won't happen when you are 40 or 50.
Totally agree with Molly - yes, there are people out there that are only interested in themselves and their gratification - there are also decent people that aren't. Plenty are trying to take advantage, it's up to everyone themselves to recognise these and keep away from them.
mollybaby: Any man that brings money into a question about love or romance makes me go
But Molly, when two people are in a relationship money are something that should the talked about sooner than later. Romance is romance, life cost money... Let's say you are both self sufficient, how do you measure the money put into everyday expenses from each of you. Or you just live separate, each one in their own house and meet occasionally... I believe it can not be measured and one always gives more of something and the other one should balance with more of another thing.... Women seem to be way too sensitive when it comes to money, it almost becomes off-putting for men....
Roll over chivalry and money, make way for audacity and balls of steel. In the old era man offered woman property and protection and this is all replaced now by personality and performance. It's a different type of grafting expected from men.

Krema, of course finances are an important part of life, That is just a fact. We'd be destitute on the streets without money . And life includes relationships
My point was about men who say women only date for money.
Within a normal good relationship, it doesn't become an issue, because it isn't the overriding concern of either. My experience is that it balances out over time.
I think, for me at least, it is better if both have a similar socio-economic background. It is easier.
