I hate people to see me cry and normally will only do it when i am alone.
But when my Grandaughter was still born i just cried when i least expected it, but managed not to do when i was with my Son and Daughter in law.

I cried when I lost my home to hurricane Katrina after only 89 days of owning it; I cried when my only brother died of lung cancer; I cried when my Mother died from a heart attack after moving in with me when Katrina destroyed her home; and, I cried when my beautiful wife died from lung cancer. This week I know I will cry again. This week is the anniversity date when my wife died a couple years ago. When I go out to her grave and talk with her it will bring tears.

I know exactly how you feel John in regards to crying over a loved one. My late husband passed away of lung cancer 2 yrs ago last month and I still shed tears.

I see no reason why people should not shed their tears. I have never hidden my pain from my children, I have shown them how people can become upset, and how they recover.
Crying is a natural way for us humans to be able to help ourselves.
We complain at crying children, but if they are unhappy they cry. How else are they to express themselves.
How many times have we heard the term 'Big boys don't cry'

When my mother passed away, I didn't cry. Not that I didn't want to... the tears wouldn't come. But at her funeral, when they played the bugle & shot the guns, then I wept like a baby.

I have cried over losing love ones like when my Mom died of cancer and my ex husband committed sucide. I cried especially over my ex because if only he would have gotton the help he needed he would have been a wonderful person.

I try to hide away to cry. But if I'm feeling down, or something gets to me, the tears just start flowing & I can't do anything to stop them. I'm not a 'huggy' type of person... never really have been. And I don't want people to feel the urge to hug me, just because I'm crying. Then I just get embarrassed.

I read alot Petal, I am a big reader, true stories, I read a book called the 'The Kabul Beauty School' about an American Woman, from Michigan, who went to Aghanistan, and opened up a school to teach Afghan women, hairdressing.
Fabulous, true story, an amazing woman.
I have lived in the Middle East too, so I understand the culture a little, I like different cultures and I like people.
I cannot stem my tears, if they need to come out, they will.
I don't suppress them.
