I have been thinking it would probably be that way and haven't watched it, don't think i will bother.When I was young Saturday night wasn't Saturday without Kojak before Match of the Day but my vote would have to go with Columbo. He was funny, clever and such a good actor.

Cool thread you have here. I can't pick one though. I like all the choices and some that you forgot to mention that other posters have brought up too. But my favorite dectective would have to be me. I learned from all of them at one point in my life or another. So, i have the CSI skills, the investigation and observation skills, research skills and even the MacGyver ingeniuty all combined. I'll even throw in a little of the mythbusters.
