Clean shaven for me...

Well looking at your photo I guess you desecrated your own manhood....
I just lived in the middle east for three years and after seeing every man with knee length beards, I couldn't determine in the end the difference between those and camel butts...I am glad to once again be amongst a land of smooth faces...

Nothing against beards per se, however there are those who do not care for them well. Unwashed beards smell very unpleasant.

I love it!! But notice what happened, when I tried to shave off my beard!

On the whole I prefer the clean shaved look, but if a man has a weak chin then a nice well trimmed beard can do a lot for his appearance.

I have worn a beard since I got out of the Army in 1985, except for the brief tears that I was an Elvis impersonator. I had a beard when I went to my first competition, even, But went into the bathroom and shaved it off, when I realized theses people were SERIOUS about this Elvis competition.
I do, however keep it neatly trimmed
As a poster above me stated...it's a masculine thing. Just my perception, anyway. If I were a woman, I don't think a man without hair on his face and chest would be a turn on. I believe women should be smooth, and feminine and men should be hairy and masculine. Now if only I could find my way back to my cave dwelling!!

Why oh why, Ray, have you chosen to forsake beardism??!! I feel horribly betrayed.
But seriously, you may have missed the poll I started a couple of weeks back, where I asked women to choose between a goatee, stubble, short beard, full beard, and clean-shaven. The various hirsute looks triumphed over clean-shaved by a small but gloriously appreciated margin.
For what it's worth - which obviously wouldn't be much - I think you look better with the short-trimmed beard from your prior main photo. Or maybe it was that hat?
In any case, carry on. It's good to see a philosopher get some much-deserved notice from our female contingent here.

Well, Claire, that's hardly a problem for some of us who actually clean their beards semi-regularly.
Myself, I go the extra step of disinfecting my beard/stubble with regular applications of powdered garlic - which serves the double purpose of livening up makeout sessions and warding off vampires/werewolves.
