BlainX: I 'm starting to ask if they are a scammer...
I try not to look at an email and instantly think scammer. I actually receive very little scammer mail. What I do usual depends on what the email says. I have read some stuff they should of not hit the send button

I reply back to them what a beautiful email they sent me and thank them for taking the time to write might comment on their picture but not interested and hope they find what their heart longs for
If they are scammers they dont reply back
but if they are really interested they leave a kind answer and wish me well and if any changes let them know
If I've never seen them in the forums I do a complete critical exam of their email, profile, and picture looking for obvious signs of a scam. Things like inconsistancies in their profile like saying they have brown eyes when they are obviously blue or their income is way out of whack to their occupation. Then I compare the verbiage between their email and their profile. If is totally different it tells me it was written by a different person. I've seen profile texts that was half in proper capitalization and part that was all caps DUH! Even little things like puncuation protocols. Then I check out where they claim to live esp if it's in the US. Very often scammers pick places that are just a dot on the map in the middle of nowhere yet they are dressed like they are from Paris. I could write pages here.
I would assume that they are either a scammer or someone who is so self centered and full of themselves that they are only sending emails out to random people for replies to flatter themselves with all the compliments they expect to get about their pictures and how they seem like a nice person and what are they doing still being single blah blah blah. They really aren't looking for a real relationship they just want flattery. I ignore them.

My favourites are God fearing, I am a serious person dont play games , and I am Anne Smith ( just example) by name.
Usually the scammers have a great picture (assumed identity) that go along with a very weird sounding message and request to contact them outside of CS

Sometimes that dot ends up being dots. I have had scammers say they were from such and such town in so and so state. This is where they totally screw up as sometimes the town they claim to be from is actually in another state than the one they claim.
I have gotten to a point where I'll send a reply pointing out the red flags saying they are a potential scammer. I also tell them that if I am wrong, I hope they find what they are looking for. In all cases, I never hear from them again

whats with the by name
It is often a red flag. He is God fearing and is looking for a God fearing woman. I used to have in my profile that I am not God fearing and not interested in anyone who is God fearing, I am very skeptical of God fearing men.

PLEASE cease and desist from telling them the mistakes they made. All that does is make them harder to detect. Let's keep them stupid as possible.

I give him the benefit of the doubt, play around some, jerk his chain, stroke his ego, wink a bunch of times, dance a little, and THEN I worry if he's a scammer! First things first--after all, it's cyberspace and you can just change the channel if they're buggin' ya. Jones around with 'em first, I say.
