lovestrees: I find this thread very interesting. Have read the bible. Was told what to believe and whom to fear as a child... Satin and the communists were high on the list.

Lots of it just did not add up or make sense to me, so I sought knowledge and continue to learn. Not here to bash anyone's beliefs, what gives comfort to, and controls our brutal species is what it is.

Certainly, there is a difference between our vessels or physical bodys being digested and returned to the earth, AND our spirit or mind, that which is our soul if you will. I think our life-force energy can exist without the vessel, AND remain cohesive, likely even aware.

The Mayan Astronomists knew about our star's eliptical orbit around our galaxy's center-(even about our galaxy's orbit around our universe's center) They knew about the vibration of all-(see Schumann's resonance theory about our planet's vibration which WAS a constant 7.83 cycles per second, and now is 12) They divided the sun's orbit around the Milky Way's center into 5 "days" each lasting over 5 thousand years. Since the orbit is eliptical, about 3 of those "days" are spent far from the galaxy's center, and away from the "light" or life-force energy of the galaxy.

Evidently, our very fast, little blue spaceship is NOW bringing us back into the light, or the life-force that is much more abundant at the center.

Or, the dawn of a new age.

I think perhaps we have a case of man-soulmates here - "Stressfree" and "Lovestress." Kind of a yin and yang sort of thing?confused wink uh oh

I see what you mean there, and not to oppose, but the name is loves trees, NOT STRESS!

From the Native American method of naming. Like: "dances with wolves". Earned the name by planting MANY trees. My land here was clear-cut, before I bought it. Red, dead and looked like a post-war area! Now has lots of beautiful trees. Still do it, donating some transplants to be placed stream-side near here to help resore salmon runs and clean our air.

Everybody! Plant trees, please!

Common man! He said whoops.

What about that nifty stuff the Mayans knew?

How did they know? How could they have such vast, intimate knowledge of galaxies orbiting a center. Knowing WHEN they would be in alignment with eachother. And their calender... no need for leap-years!

Is there any concurrence among todays astronomers, with their big telescopes and star charts.

Also, some talk about a pulsing of energy that is more strong the closer we/Sol get to the center of our galaxy.

And the "we are the stars" stuff. Guess we ARE made of the same stuff, the little parts anyway.

Can consciousness be hosted by a star? Is an astro-traveling soul drawn to a light source?

Well, I don't mind going to any levels in other realms or astral planes, or as other entities or energies, provided I don't have to get up early in the mornings! And it's all very well coming back to earthly existence as animals, plants or humans to fulfill some certain destiny and journey or whatever, but just supposing I don't WANT to be shunted around other realms of existence in different forms...?! Is there no one you can complain to about all this, or do we just have to blindly accept it like being dragged into the army and blown up or whatever in THIS life...?! Personally I'd be quite happy just coming back to Mother Earth as a good looking male human (as opposed to a ghastly poodle or whatever in the animal kingdom!) with a damned sight more money than I've got now and with slightly more available females (if THAT'S not asking the Grand Creator for just a little bit too much, of course!). And as for any valuable lessons to be learned, I've already learned them far better than anyone: From the very moment you're born punch ANYONE fairly and suarely on the nose who comes anywhere near you just to be on the safe side! And talking of karma, do try to choose decent parents who don't make vast fortunes from the mass poisoning or weapons industries, and in a country whose entire population hasn't fallen victim to them! Although I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I fear no evi......AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHHH...!!
StressFree: I believe that we go to the spirit world, experience other existences on all levels in other realms and astral planes as other entities and energies.
We may come back to this earthly existence as humans, animals, plants, or anything that has a vibrating energy connected to Mother Earth and our universe to work out some karma and learn some valuable lessons to fulfill a certain destiny and journey.
Ultimately, we would all like to go back to the source, the light....the Judeo-Christian-Islam concept of Heaven, The Hindu-Buddha concept of Nirvana. To escape this painful circle of life, and back to our source that connects all realities, illusions, time, matter and space.

Yes I believe in life after death. I will be back on earth for a 1000 years with God as my leader. Astronomers discover what God has always known, after all he created it. The new-age---life-force opinion must be a sign from God that his comming is drawing near. The proof I have to back this up is TRUTH God was here today, yesterday and will be tomorrow. Love and peace to all.

dcj22: What do you believe happens after death?

Depends on how one would define/describe/understand death? Is death an end or a beginning or a process?

We each have our own definition of what death is, as has been demonstrated already on this thread.

If life is a cycle (for some) there is no beginning or end. Perhaps then, to some, it is a merely a transformation as mentioned in some earlier posts.

Therefore what occurs after death will be dependent highly on the way each of us perceive these transformations.

It is said the whole universe is in a grain of sand (or something like that). If one subscribes to this theory, our physical body transforms upon its expiry date, all that is contained in the universe is within that transformation. If our 'other bodies' transform all that is contained in the universe is within this transformation.

It is our awareness or lack of, the transformation process that will give us more/less insight into the processes of life and its cycles.

In saying that, living in the nowness of the moment allows room for the greater awareness of these processes to enter into our consciousness in most instances.

However which way we perceive life and death to be, that is exactly what it will be for us no more no less.

I believe that after we shed this earthly body we go into a period of review of what we've learned, and then rest or do other things until we decide it's time to come in again.

I do believe that our souls are forever, and that this is just a passing phase in our total life as a spirit, and that its goal is to learn lessons to move to a higher level. The Native Americans say that we "change worlds" when we die. I like that, and I agree.

Jesus spoke of a life after death.
Matthew 5:21, 22, 29; 16:18; 23:33; 13:41, 42
Mark 9:43-48; 10:30
Luke 16:19-31; 23:43; 20:34-36
John 11:23-25; Revelation 1:18

Scripture teaches that the spirits of men are fully conscious after separation from the body at death.

a. They can speak. Isaiah 14:9-11; Ezekiel 32:21 b. They can cry.
Matthew 8:11, 12; Matthew 13:42, 50; Matthew 22:13 Luke 16:24-31; 13:28; Revelation 6:9-11
c. They can hear. John 5:25; 1 Peter 3:18-20; 4:6 d. They can see.
Luke 16:23; John 8:51-54, 56 e. They can feel pain.
Luke 16:23, 24Revelation 20:10 ("torment" = Greek basanizo, meaning "to vex with
great pain" – as Matthew 8:29) f. They have memory. Luke 16:28

Death does not mean extinction. The words "perish," "destroy,"
and "lost" in the King James Version are all used for the same
Greek word apollumi, meaning "that which is no longer useful."
It is also used in Matthew 9:17; 10:6; etc.

The doctrine of hell makes it very clear the departed lost from this life suffer in the next

Jesus says of the man in Luke 16:
23 "And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in TORMENTS. . . "
24 ". . . for I am TORMENTED in this FLAME."
28 ". . .PLACE OF TORMENT."

The Bible describes it as weeping (Matt 8:12), wailing (Matt 13:42), gnashing of teeth (Matt 13:50), darkness (Matt 25:30), flames (Luke 16:24), burning (Isa 33:14), torments (Luke 16:23), everlasting punishment! Jesus Christ says in Matthew 25:41, "Depart from me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels."

In Matthew 13:42, Jesus says: "And shall cast them into a FURNACE OF FIRE: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

Rev. 14:11: "The smoke of their TORMENT ascendeth up for EVER AND EVER: and they ( the lost who havd died ) have NO REST DAY NOR NIGHT."

Since I was created by God in this life. There has to be life after death. Cause I believe in Jesus Christ I will live forever in heaven. conversing Cause if I got to hell I will be thrown into the lake of fire and will perish and cease to exist.

We're here to evolve in something bigger, greater.

It would have no sense if we had only one *life* (we keep the soul, but change the body and the stuff which goes with...)

And if there's nothing after, I prefer to live with my hope and belief than living without it....
